My husband and I have just returned from a two night stop over break at the wonderful Millgate House. From the moment we walked through the door we were in a total wonderland of furniture antiques and art. As we had our dog Mabel with us we stayed in the extremely comfortable room 6 an apartment downstairs with a door...

We stayed with our two young children at the wonderful Millgate House for New Years 2016/17. Tim & Aus made our stay a delight and were particularly attentive to our young toddler who felt like a king! The whole house is a masterpiece! The food was excellent (as always), tea and coffee great :) Great service and the staff always...

A treasuretrove of a venue filled with antiques and charm complete with Italian greyhounds and a huge open log fire. Tim and Oz will give you a warm welcome and serve gourmet meals as beautiful as the venue. This is not a budget location but the place for a unique dining experience and a really special treat

We keep coming back to this beautiful home---- they never disappoint! Always a warm welcome, a beautiful room, with tea, coffee, whiskey and fabulous homemade biscuits. A large bed to sink into and the best breakfast ever. The decor is a dream with an eclectic twist of beautiful antiques , paintings from Bali, silver and clocks--- lots of them. I...

We stayed at the very lovely Millgate House during our recent move to the area and what a wonderful stay we had! Our stay was a true treat for all the senses; the house has been beautifully furnished with exquisite pieces of furniture, beautiful china and silver, paintings and rugs. Tim and Austin's taste is divine, a real feast for...

You don't need an excuse.... just do it! We do have local residents coming to stay just for a treat and a retreat! Have a day off...and a delicious breakfast prepared by someone else. Thanks for your wonderful appreciative review... your eye for detail is pretty good... It is so rewarding when people observe and appreciate what goes into the...

I should firstly note that this belated review should not be mistaken for lack of enthusiasm. Rather, I've lacked the time to give it the proper attention it deserves... I enjoyed a stay at Millgate House with family during Christmas. An enchanting place all year round (as is evident from the countless rave reviews below) Christmas at Millgate is a...

We came back after a mind-blowingly good stay here last year and it was every inch as fabulous. Reading the reviews since we last visited, it seems our feeling that this is a truly exceptional experience is pretty much standard for Millgate House guests; I think "transcendent" sums it up more eloquently than I have. Tim and Austin are hitting...

Not a bad start to the New Year! Great to have such glowing praise from a distinguished film maker with such an acute eye for detail. And very assuring that a year later we hit the right notes once again. "Exceptional" is a key note running through the reviews of 2016... as are comments on the service, the breakfasts and...

Five of us stayed at Mill Gate House over Christmas. The house is a treasure trove of beautiful things, everywhere you turn. Antique grandfather clocks gently chime in the background, smells of cinnamon and cloves hang in the air and fires roar. This is a true treat. Totally delicious food in perfect portions eaten with silver off porcelain plates and...

Our friends recommended we stay at this B&B during a recent family trip to the U.K.. We spent three nights here using Millgate House as our base for adventures to the North York Moors and to the Lake District. The drive through Hewes to hiking in the Lake District was unforgettable. Millgate House and the hospitality of Tim and Austin...

Thanks again to all recent reviewers. Great that new and original comments are still being discovered. "Transcendent " is certainly new. We really are delighted that people are so enthusiastic about the house, the views, the breakfasts, the collections and the hospitality and continuing to tell people around the world to come and visit. We feel very touched that you...

This small B & B came highly recommended and didn't disappoint. Through the totally understated, yet classic, entrance you enter a beautiful world of opulance that you would struggle to find in many grander properties. The place is teaming with antiques and clocks (grandfather, etc.) which gives a wonderful feeling of calm and peace that is mirrored throughout the property....
