Food excellent, Room very comfortable - Saturday night, wedding reception in the Mowbray Suite but music stopped at midnight! good nights sleep followed.
Service is excellent too, nothing too much trouble.
Enjoyed a five course christmas lunch in the restaurant
The food was superb and well presented. The service was friendly and efficient.
It was a nice touch that Father Christmas came and gave us all a present.
The after dinner coffee let the meal down.
We went to the Golden Lion to meet with some friends and to have an ordinary meal afterwards. The bar typical for a high street, not pretentious, and it wasn't busy, but the service was slow. I didn't feel the beer was in best condition...More
On a long journey we had left it late in the evening before deciding to stop for a meal, so we hadn't booked. Nevertheless, we were seated promptly, and after a wait we were served a very good meal, at a reasonable price.
Stayed there for work, good check in, nice comfy room & bed - no complaints. The room was on the front, but very quiet. Good supply of hot water in the morning. Didn't eat or visit the bar but looked good
