We stayed here on Saturday the 10th of September 2016 for my birthday and it was lovely, the rooms are very cosy and the bed was more comfortable than my own! The breakfast was lovely, clearly fresh and not a drop of oil in sight! My wife I have fallen in love with Knaresborough and The Orange Groves Played a... More

Went in for lunch and it was fantastic, massive size portions of what seems like home-cooked food. Still full up now and it was hours ago. Lovely interior too and friendly bar staff and a reasonable price. Will be going back again

The steaks we ordered were prepared exactly as requested and were good value for money. However, the restaurant was not very attractive and the service was just about adequate. The waiter also acted as bar-tender and was quite absorbed in chatting to the regular drinkers. Such a pity, since it let down the food standard

We ate at the now named Orange Grove and first off really liked the decor. There's a good selection of ales and wines by the glass. The menu is small but with a good range on offer. We ate there with our two young children and the staff were happy to downsize dishes to make child-size portions. The kids and... More

We booked for 17 people three weeks in advance, and were given a menu to peruse. On arrival we were informed that we would have to select from a set menu! There was one waitress and young at that, trying to take orders and deliver food to the table, and she could not cope, but then again neither could the... More

only had a drink but very impressed with quality of refurb, will definitely give the food a try next time in Knaresborough. Rooms must be good, toilets are excellent, lot of money been spent here, staff are currently under training but carefully selected.

On looking at reviews from other visitors we picked this hotel for our stay in Knaresborough. Unfortunately the hotel is in the process of changing ownership. When we turned up at the Grove we were shown straight to our rooms. The rooms had just been upgraded and were exceptional large comfortable bed plenty of pillars tea and coffee with luxury... More

We stayed overnight this week in Room 1...lovely room, comfy bed and the bedding and towels were very clean. The bathroom was very modern and clean. The only disappointment was that we were informed on arrival that the chef was ill so there would be no breakfasts served...had seen the reviews and was looking forward to a full English. £10... Visited with my partner spring bank holiday. It was the only place around that let us stay for one night as all others want two nights? Very central right next to the market. 24 hour parking 500 yards away for £1.70 bargain. Nice little pub with very friendly staff and adequately breakfast. En-suite rooms recently modernised and clean and cosy.... More
