We stayed in this wonderful old pub / bed & breakfast for 8 nights and we met the most welcoming people ever! The rooms are clean, tidy and have lovely beds. The landlord and landlady are such lovely warm people who make you feel at room right away. We spent quite a few afternoons and nights in the pub having... More

The rooms at the Royal Oak were clean and comfortable although they were separated from the main building. The breakfast however was of poor quality and very little choice. Not many restaurants in knaresborough but we did find an excellent Indian restaurant and a bistro called carriages

We stayed here after visiting Harrogate. Location for getting to and from Harrogate is great, however we did struggle to find places to eat for a Saturday night. The room was away from the pub and across the car park which was good as it separated us from the pub which had karaoke night. The young lady behind the bar... More

Knaresborough and the surrounding area is a great place for a weekend and the Old royal oak is an old traditional pub with decent facilities and comfortable rooms in the old stable block at the back. Our room (4) was pretty clean, decent bathroom with shower, tea/coffee and an electric room heater. The rooms are separated from the pub by... More

Ideally located, nice little pub with parking for guests. The rooms are located at the back in the old stable block, our room number 3 was a good size, clean and nicely decorated. The staff were friendly and we were served with a lovely breakfast in the morning.

Me and my girlfriend stayed here at the weekend for a little getaway. The rooms are in a converted stable at the rear of the pub. It's really nicely done and the room looked new, was clean and had everything you could need to explore Knaresborough from. We stayed Friday and Saturday night, so were expecting a little noise. It... More

My wife and I stayed here prior to a 60th birthday party. When we arrived we were met on the car park and shown straight to our room in the annex. This saved us taking our baggage in and then out again to the annex. The room was clean and tidy the heating had been put on for our arrival... More

Stayed for two night including Friday and Saturday night. Staff very friendly and was even helped by barmaid to carry bags to room. The room was a good size and great for our dog as the b&b is dog friendly. Only niggle was a very small tv hard to watch from bed. Breakfast was as good as it gets. One... More

We had a great 3 night stay here. The staff were very welcoming and the breakfasts lovely. Good quiz night on the Wednesday! Nearby Carriages restaurant was good albeit pricey and there is also a Wetherspoons.
