I'd like to make it clear that the hall itself and gardens are beautiful, no question about that, however, the rooms and management were beyond poor, I felt disgusted. Point 1: this is a guest house not a hotel and needs to stop being marketed incorrectly Point 2: the room was tiny, it was a struggle to walk around the... More

What can I say about this hotel? "Perfect" is the only word to describe our stay. Hotel owners and staff are so friendly. The chef went for the extra mile to provided us the perfect meal as we requested halal meat. Such a peaceful place to enjoy our wedding short break. We would definitely go back again!

Just returned today from an Afternoon Tea for a birthday celebration - this village and hall has been overlooked by me for years as I only ever drive through on the A59 from York to Harrogate. The hall is magnificent, the grounds stunning. The Orangerie is a delight to sit in wonderful ambience for our afternoon tea which was simply... More

Stayed for one night as a special treat. The hall is beautiful and makes you feel incredibly grand just to be inside. All the staff were very welcoming and the service we received was impeccable. Our room overlooked the gardens and was a perfect mixture of modern and tradition. The furniture was in keeping with the halls history yet all... More

What can I say about Goldsborough Hall, well as it happens quite a lot. This venue is fantastic, clean and great value. The grounds are extremely well kept and the Hall is set perfectly. The hotel is privately owned and the owners live on the grounds and are great hosts, friendly and pleasant as are the staff. The rooms are... More

Stayed for two nights with my husband and thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful house and fantastic gardens minutes from Knaresborough and Harrogate by car. Owners and staff most welcoming and provided excellent and cheerful service. Breakfasts fantastic but a shame that dinner did not live up to expectations. The furnishings are looking tired and some investment would not go amiss but,... More

Our stay here was perfect. It is expensive but in return you receive sumptuous accommodation and excellent service. Our room in the modern extension (including the bathroom) was spacious and well planned with a lovely view. Dinner was exceptional, the flavours on the plate were intense yet melded together well. The grounds, in the summer sunshine were a delight, we... More

What a history to this place, royals visiting and photo's to prove it. The hall has been brought back to life thanks to the present owners. We went with friends for afternoon tea. We were also lucky enough to be shown some of the bedroom by the manager. We must have a stay here. So if you like to visit... More

So beautiful. Lovely manicured gardens. Every room of this hall was so grand and full of detail. Our room was amazing. The bed was one of the most comfy sleeps I've had in a long time. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. I would definitely stay here again.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Goldsborough Hall is a beautifully restored, privately owned stately home tucked away in the small village of Goldsborough, just off the A59 between Harrogate and the A1M. The 400yr old hall has had many residents through the years, being built for the high sheriff of Yorkshire, the last resting place of the eldest founding father to all thoroughbred horses and most famously the first family home of HRH Princess Mary, the aunt of our current Queen. ... more   less
