We stopped off here after a long day walking the dales. The food was excellent - proper steak pie. chips. peas. carrots, all cooked really well; but the plates were absolutely huge and we struggled to finish. In the end, the meal almost stopped being enjoyable. No room for pudding and thank goodness we hadn't had a starter. No problem... More

Lunch here on a way through the dales. A nice sunny day, lots of people about in the streets. This looked welcoming. Fast friendly service. Food came quickly. A tasty peppered sweet potato soup followed by a chicken in creamy sauce delicious.

Stayed with my sister for 2 nights in a good sized room with arm chairs and a comfortable double bed. The room was clean and provided everything we needed. Overlooking the high street, there was quite a bit of noise when we had the window open. We took our dog and we were all made to feel welcome by the... More

We called in after a long tiring walk. Everything was just right here from the fresh and clean decor, to the lady behind the bar. Efficient and friendly. Lunch menu was excellent, we had toasties with cheese and bacon, plus side salad. Generous portions, tasty, well cooked and plenty of tasty side salad. Would highly recommend indeed. Busy with customers... More

Five adults and two small children went for lunch in the pub. We were welcomed by the hostess, who took great delight in finding us a good table and ensuring that the children were well looked after. The food was excellent and arrived quickly. We could not fault the welcome and service.

Friends had booked this and expectations weren't high 'there were few places available in town '. The building is a little unprepossessing but the welcome was warm. Our friends had intended a twin room and a double but 2 doubles had been made available. We voiced concern but left it to our friends arriving later to sort out. When they... More

Called here for lunch on a hot sunny day, so we sat outside with the dog, dogs are welcome inside as well. The tables outside overlook main road which is a lively area. You order inside at bar and pay for when ordering, I ordered a soup and two sandwiches, it all came to table at same time as requested,... More

Booked in at last minute but really glad we did. Very welcoming, rooms clean and spacious, food excellent. For an extra £10 ask for room 2 which is more like a suite complete with sofa and full size TV on the wall. The inn is in the middle of the village so everything you need is on your doorstep.

Stayed for a few days early January at ultra short notice, service absolutely fantastic and incredibly welcoming. All of the staff couldn't do enough for us. The location is dead centre of the town of Hawes at the beating heart of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Would recommend the rooms, food and service to all.

Very friendly welcome and comfy traditional country town pub/hotel. Real fires and muddy boots and dogs welcome. The highlights are the local produce food, the ploughman's platter was awesome, the chocolate sponge even better. Breakfast was enough to keep us going all day! Great Yorkshire hospitality, nothing fancy just homely. Ab Fab !!
