I work in the travel industry and have been lucky enough to stay in some 5* hotels over the years. But the lovely welcome from the new owners put some of them to shame. The cleanliness everywhere lovely bed linen and how at home we felt was fabulous. The breakfast was better than many of the hotels I have stayed in with options offered that were fabulous…I hope they make a great success of their business as they deserve it.We will be back.

We've stayed here several times under previous ownership, and in truth were a little nervous when we learned it had changed hands. No need. Wendy is fabulously people-friendly, and as vegetarians towards the vegan end, not only were we deliciously catered for, this delightful couple asked what else they might provide for vegetarians (eg avocado & scrambled egg!). Nothing is too much trouble, even extra bottles of water for day trips in hot weather: we'll certainly be back!

This place changed hands only a month ago but you couldn’t tell, it is run like clockwork and they are so welcoming. Although the rooms have tea and coffee we were offered tea on arrival and it arrived promptly in our room on a tray. Our room was lovely and the breakfast is wonderful. Highly recommend this place.

We've just had the loveliest stay for the past three nights at the Forge . The house was spotless and our room was really comfortable with good quality fixtures throughout. The beautiful toiletries in the bathroom were really lovely. Wendy was a great host, very welcoming and friendly and the breakfasts were delicious with nice fresh produce, well cooked. We thought our stay was great value for money and we'd definitely recommend and hope to stay again in the future.
