Had the most fantastic stay, beautiful and comfortable and clean rooms with lovely bathroom toiletries no need to take your own as towels, hairdryer supplied. Wendy and Gareth cannot do enough for you we arrived late and there was a pot of tea and coffee waiting for us with a lovely chocolate muffin. The breakfast cooked by Gareth is out of this world and kept us going all day, fresh produce, freshly cooked and served hot. I needed a Fan asked before we went out and was outside our door when we got back. It is situated right near the gardens and the beach.

Parking is a problem but they kept checking for a space outside once 1 was available Gareth parked his car there until we got there. Once parked no need to use your car again as round the corner from bus and railway stations we went to Scarborough for the day and it cost us £6.10 for both of us return.

Wendy and Gareth are the nicest people and always ready to help or have a good chat well Wendy as I got her in trouble more than once 😂. We will be back and would highly recommend you to stay you won’t be disappointed.

Good luck to you both it was a pleasure and we will be back

We cannot recommend The Forge Guest House in Filey highly enough. My wife and I had a lovely weekend stay. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. We were greeted with a cafetiere of coffee with baked goods on arrival and shown to our tastefully decorated room. The breakfasts were excellent with a wide range of options. The Forge is perfectly placed to explore Filey with the beach just a short walk away. The owners were at all times sensitive to Covid-19 concerns with breakfast rotas and sensible table spacing in place and it felt very safe.

My friend and I were extremely fortunate to stay here at the end of our hike along the Cleveland Way. We received a very friendly welcome from Wendy and were offered tea and muffins upon our arrival. Our cases had already been taken to our twin room with ensuite, which whilst being compact, was beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. The beds were extremely comfy which is just what we needed after 7 days hiking. We were provided with a wonderful breakfast, made from premium ingredients and cooked to perfection. Wendy and Gareth have only owned this B & B for just over a year, but they are doing an amazing job, providing a friendly, quality experience in a great (quiet) location in the heart of Filey.

Stayed for two nights weekend of the 25th/26th September, what a hidden gem of a B&B under new management and run by two excellent hosts, Wendy and Gareth, who give a warm and friendly welcome and create a homely atmosphere. The B&B is very nicely decorated throughout and spotlessly clean. The bed was comfy which provided for a good nights sound sleep. Breakfast is cooked to order, there was plenty of choice, from locally sourced produce and very tasty. Good value for money and well worth a stay.

This place changed hands only a month ago but you couldn’t tell, it is run like clockwork and they are so welcoming. Although the rooms have tea and coffee we were offered tea on arrival and it arrived promptly in our room on a tray. Our room was lovely and the breakfast is wonderful. Highly recommend this place.

The room was exceptionally clean, the bathroom was compact but we were aware of this as it was mentioned in the hotel information but it did what it needed to do, was clean and the shower was good. Nice quiet room and had nice little touches like bottled water and a fabulus selection of warm drink options. Wendy greeted us and after showing us to our room brought us fresh coffee and mince pies. The beds were lovely and comfy and the room was lovely and warm when we returned home from a late night out out. The breakfast was amazing. Tasty, cooked perfectly piping hot and presented with love. The portions were generous and nothing was too much trouble. The location is brilliant, quiet but right in the middle, the parking is street parking on a first come first served but we managed to get parked on the street easily enough. We will definitely return and it will feel like visiting friends, thank you Wendy for your lovely warm welcome and thank you Gareth for the fabulous breakfast!

Stayed two nights at The Forge in Filey whilst walking the Cleveland Way and was a wonderful end to our holiday. It's in a great location close to the town centre and the seafront and we received such a warm welcome from Wendy that I felt as though we had already met. She even brought a cup of tea up to our room despite the fact we had a kettle in our room to make our own, it was much appreciated after a long day walking. The room was very comfortable and homely and spotlessly clean. Breakfasts cooked by Gareth were amazing, a great selection and I'd definitely recommend the smoked salmon and scrambled egg on toast and the Belgian waffles with fresh fruit. The best breakfasts of our holiday! Wendy had the whole breakfast room of guests chatting which was lovely and nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely recommend The Forge and would love to stay here again.

We've just had the loveliest stay for the past three nights at the Forge .
The house was spotless and our room was really comfortable with good quality fixtures throughout. The beautiful toiletries in the bathroom were really lovely. Wendy was a great host, very welcoming and friendly and the breakfasts were delicious with nice fresh produce, well cooked.
We thought our stay was great value for money and we'd definitely recommend and hope to stay again in the future.

We've stayed here several times under previous ownership, and in truth were a little nervous when we learned it had changed hands.
No need.
Wendy is fabulously people-friendly, and as vegetarians towards the vegan end, not only were we deliciously catered for, this delightful couple asked what else they might provide for vegetarians (eg avocado & scrambled egg!).
Nothing is too much trouble, even extra bottles of water for day trips in hot weather: we'll certainly be back!

You won't find a nicer, more helpful couple than Wendy and Gareth anywhere. They go the extra mile to make sure their guests are happy and well catered for. There is nothing - absolutely nothing - to criticise and much to commend.

We found our room and bed very comfortable and the breakfasts would do justice to any five-star hotel. Not only is the choice as comprehensive as anyone could want, it is beautifully prepared and plentiful and served promptly with a smile.

And as for cleanliness, the place is spotless. It's also tastefully furnished and decorated.

The guest house is close to the town centre and the sea front and is in a very quiet street away from any noise. For those unfamiliar with Filey, it's a small, attractive seaside town with a lot to offer.

If you're looking for a quiet seaside getaway, I would recommend the Forge Guest House without any hesitation. It's a real Home From Home!
