Travelers' Choice
Built in 1906, with captivating views of the Leven Valley on the edge of the Yorkshire Moors, Crathorne Hall is at once grand and stately, warm and welcoming. Owned by the Dugdale family until 1977, the hall has played host to politicians, courted royalty and delighted socialites over the decades. Yet despite moving in stately circles, the house has stayed true to its roots as a place of entertainment and relaxation. Now it is yours to explore. Enjoy an overnight stay in one of our 37 bedrooms (17 of which have recently been refurbished following a £4 million restoration of the Hall's East Wing), plan your perfect day and take over the hotel for your wedding or inspire your delegates with our meeting facilities.

Beautiful, spacious and very comfortable hotel with very friendly, well trained staff who were taking COVID security seriously so that we felt vey safe. Although the menu was more limited than usual the meals were excellent. Thoroughly recommended especially in these uncertain times (September 2020)

We chose this hotel due to their reviews and sadly we do not share the reviews it had received. The building and setting itself was lovely but that was about it. Maybe it would have been different if it wasn’t just after covid lockdown, however I feel for a property like this the service always should be great. We only staid one night and the room was very spacious but slightly dated. We decided to have dinner at the hotel that evening and sadly that was the most disappointing part of the trip. The steak wasn’t cooked right and upon complaining joking was changed. The waiter said he will tell the chef but when spending over 100for dinner that is quite disappointing. Maybe the team had a day off, however from that experience I would not recommend it as a 4* location

Just had 2 nights stay at this beautiful hotel, it was so nice and relaxing. We had a lovely exec room, which was very spacious with a huge and comfortable bed. We had a meal in the hotel and drinks in the bar. The food was excellent! The hotel has covid measures in place, one way system, masks, sanitizer, it did all feel quite safe. We had a lovely stay and will return, thank you to the friendly and helpful staff.

Thank you for your review. Naturally I am very sorry to read that you have felt the food you received, whilst recently dining at Crathorne Hall as part of the Government's Eat out to help out scheme, did not represent good value for money. This scheme has proven to be very popular at Crathorne and can reassure you that these comments are not reflective of our usual standard, nor typical of the guest feedback we have also received. Our Head Chef has however taken on board the points highlighted and had you raised this directly with the team, I know this would have also been addressed at the time. For further reassurance, we only serve Peroni by the bottle, which was the correct price you have paid. Our most expensive pint of lager is priced at £4.50. I do hope we may have the opportunity to restore your confidence in Crathorne Hall. Should you reconsider and decide to return to the hotel in the future, please do contact me directly beforehand, so that I may personally oversee your booking.

Just spent the night at this fantastic hotel and boy what a stay! My husband and teenage son wanted to try wild camping, so I arranged for them to do that on the North Yorkshire Moors while our daughter and myself stayed at Crathorne Hall. As the hotel now accepts dogs, we took along our cocker spaniel Bertie who turned out to be their very first canine guest. Every single aspect of our stay was exceptional - the very warm welcome from Martin, the delightful afternoon tea, dinner in the lounge, the perfect room (Welbury) and of course the outstanding breakfast. The staff are all so kind and thoughtful, the hotel itself is stunning and the grounds just fabulous. Some hotels seem to embrace you in a warm hug when you arrive, and leave you with a lasting impression. This is one of them. We can’t wait to return. Thank you to all the staff.

Thank you so much for a truly fantastic review of your stay with us here at Crathorne Hall. I am delighted to read that so many aspects of your stay were to your liking, and we would agree with yourself that a stay with us is good choice vs camping. Bertie has certainly left a lasting impression with the team, we loved having him as our guest for the evening and pleased that he also enjoyed his stay with us. As with all feedback, your review will be duly shared with all the team, who will no doubt appreciate the recognition for all their efforts in making you feel special. We look forward to your return to the hotel, hopefully in the not too distant future.
