Built in 1906, with captivating views of the Leven Valley on the edge of the Yorkshire Moors, Crathorne Hall is at once grand and stately, warm and welcoming. Owned by the Dugdale family until 1977, the hall has played host to politicians, courted royalty and delighted socialites over the decades. Yet despite moving in stately circles, the house has stayed true to its roots as a place of entertainment and relaxation. Now it is yours to explore. Enjoy an overnight stay in one of our 37 bedrooms (17 of which have recently been refurbished following a £4 million restoration of the Hall's East Wing), plan your perfect day and take over the hotel for your wedding or inspire your delegates with our meeting facilities.

I booked afternoon tea for my Mum's birthday with my Grandma, having never visited before. We had a lovely afternoon. Staff were so polite and friendly, the service was excellent and the food delicious. My mum was given a card and chocolate bar from the staff, both branded with the venue which was a lovely touch too. They do add a service charge on but this was no issue as we were really impressed with our visit. It's in a beautiful location too.

We went for a belated Mother’s Day afternoon tea treat on Saturday and were greeted by a lovely cheerful lady( sorry didn’t get her name) and were seated in a very nice room. The afternoon tea was a good selection of cakes and delicious scones but what let it down was the sandwiches which were made with less than fresh bread and had very little filling, this came as a bit of a disappointment as it is not what you would expect at such a lovely hotel. At £28 per person everything should be perfect.

Where to start? This hotel is more like a country house where the guests are greeted by name, and you feel as if you are the most important people in the world! The service and friendliness is beyond anything I’ve encountered before. The ambience is elegant yet understated. The cleanliness second to none. The beauty of the house and grounds themselves cannot be described. You really have to experience a few days here to understand how special the hotel and the staff are. We had the junior suite Glaisdale which was huge, with a separate sitting room, two TVs, an enormous bed with the finest linens, dreamy mattress and pillows and stunning draperies and soft furnishings. The bathroom was spotless and the shower very efficient. The towels beyond fluffy and soft and lots of them. The room was warm - the whole hotel was warm. I did wonder if it might be a little draughty or chilly but not at all. We had a brief issue with the lock on our room door. I won’t bore the readers of this review with it but suffice to say the manager and reception staff couldn’t do enough to try to rectify matters. We were gifted a lovely box of Yorkshire goodies as we were celebrating birthdays and anniversary whilst there, and some fudge too!! Turn down service each night was a lovely touch - I miss that in hotels these days. The housekeeping was discreet and efficient. Tea and coffee in the room came with fresh milk. Bliss. We enjoyed three nights dinner bed and breakfast. The latter was excellent, with golden yolked eggs each morning and everything served just as you wanted it. Dinner on the other hand - well no superlatives will suffice. Just mouth-wateringly delicious food, cooked to perfection, beautifully served and every morsel a taste sensation. Pre and post dinner drinks were taken in the bar - and at this establishment they know how to make a mean martini! All in all it was the perfect three night break, without fault and I truly mean it when I say I cannot think of anything that could be improved. Thank you to Everyone who made the time we spent at Crathorne so memorable.

We visited Crathorne Hall for my birthday breakfast with friends. From the moment we arrived it felt so special . We were given a very warm welcome by Martin and shown to our beautiful table by the window. When my husband booked our table he was asked if it was a special occasion and he informed them it was my birthday …there was a card and bar of chocolate on the table for me…what a nice surprise and a lovely touch. The breakfast was outstanding , perfect in every way and complimented by excellent service from Martin and Byron. Thank you Crathorne Hall for making my birthday so special . Highly recommended!

We visited for our wedding anniversary and stayed the Crathrone suit. We pre-booked the champagne afternoon tea and the valentines special meal. The driver was able to enter and leave the site very easily. The drive up to the house was amazing with the views. The welcome was warm, the food was lovely and the bedroom was large. Overall I would return, as it was very nice. Well done to all the staff, with some being working for many years. Overall 5 stars ✨ ✨✨✨✨

I loved this venue from the first visit when we booked our wedding back in 2020! Its come round quick and on march 23rd this year we are finally getting married, When we arrived for our menu tasting and stay on the 25th of Jan, the lady on reception was lovely and welcoming, ( i got no names of anyone during this stay oops). Then the room was great and the box of chocolates a welcome treat. All amenities were great to. Our menu tasting was great also, meeting Alan and staff and laughing over our ignorance of cutlery. The lady and gent serving in the restaurant and the bar were also great and hope to see them again on the wedding. Everything was great with the food also, compliments to the chef, it was a outstanding sirloin dinner and the canape's were to die for, and this is coming from 2 very fussy eaters.. Cant fault a thing about the meal. We stayed in Hambleton room and had breakfast up there in the morning ( breakfast in bed why not) and this was brought up by a lovely and bubbly lady who made our morning, she was very happy and chatty and the breakfast was lovely. We caught up with her again downstairs and again what a lovely lady. My usual wedding co-coordinator is Nicola but unfortunately she could not attend our wedding meeting but Aurora was fab and to say it was on short notice, had every answer to every question I had. The team was great and we cant wait to get married here and then its my birthday the next day also! See you all on the 23rd of march, thanks again.

We visited today, for Afternoon Tea. We were celebrating my Nana's belated Birthday. All the staff were fantastic, Gloria and Bohwa in particular. They made us feel incredibly well looked after, and even brought a Birthday Card and chocolate for my Nana's Birthday. Gloria went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed, she really was a superstar.
