Built in 1906, with captivating views of the Leven Valley on the edge of the Yorkshire Moors, Crathorne Hall is at once grand and stately, warm and welcoming. Owned by the Dugdale family until 1977, the hall has played host to politicians, courted royalty and delighted socialites over the decades. Yet despite moving in stately circles, the house has stayed true to its roots as a place of entertainment and relaxation. Now it is yours to explore. Enjoy an overnight stay in one of our 37 bedrooms (17 of which have recently been refurbished following a £4 million restoration of the Hall's East Wing), plan your perfect day and take over the hotel for your wedding or inspire your delegates with our meeting facilities.

Beautiful hotel building but not impressive by its interior decor and services. I'm surprised to read all the reviews here. I was not that lucky ... stayed in Marton Room (myself and my husband) and Dugdale Room (for teenage boy and girl). We booked the classic one (obviously the standard room) in this hotel. My children's room is obviously for elderly ... big disable bathroom ... you won't feel in a hotel more like in hospital / McDonald toilet (sorry if I sounds rude here) but big room with very nice view. My room is very small but it is ok but no view and dark. Simple and cheap finishing bathroom. Limited toiletries. There is cotton stick in the bathroom, so we ask for it but they said they don't offer that as for safety and security purpose. Never heard that reason before in any hotel I'd been stayed. Even Hilton airport hotel will provide it. Breakfast is ok not excited. Ask for a cup of cappucino but they said the coffee machine is broken so only black coffee is available. My crossiant is cold inside but a bit warm outside. I guess it is warm up from microwave. Smoke salmon is very salty ... that's my experience in the breakfast so I can't imagine how it hold wedding dinner there. My husband went to make inquiry in the reception but the person on duties has no eye contact at all. You don't feel they value/welcome you. Beside the rooms, the hallway and decor looks a bit run down and not in good quality maintenance (cosmetic style). It is sad that a beautiful old building in a beautiful location which not in good management. It puts you off to come back. I won't come back again honestly.

We arrived for our one night's stay just in time for lunch. We had this in the Nancy Tennant Bar. Delicious sandwiches & excellent service. Our room - Richmond - was in the newly refurbished east wing of the hotel. It was spacious & beautifully furnished. In fact, we would go as far as to say this room was one of the most user friendly hotel rooms we have stayed in. Breakfast was delicious. We were impressed by the efficiency & friendliness of all staff we came into contact with. We hope to return before too long. Many thanks to all concerned.

I needed a location to meet my family for an evening meal who live in the local area, but I always have one awkward reservation requirement, I travel with a elderly 13 year old Labrador and if the dog can’t visit neither do I. She has canine dementia and can become very anxious at times hence I will no longer allow her to go in kennels. Having previously stayed at Crathorne with my Labrador I knew they were dog friendly, so I got in touch with Jamie the hotel manager to enquire if, despite not being a resident, would they be able to accommodate a evening meal for 6 along with Poppy Labrador - I was not disappointed! A beautiful table had been laid for restaurant service in the Nancy Tennant bar, as I’m fully understanding dogs can’t go in the main restaurant, we had full restaurant menu and service from start to finish, excellent attentiveness from a relatively new staff member called Ryan, he did a great job. What was a special touch to me was I was asked before arrival “do you have any dietary requirements” I said Poppy Labrador likes sausages, attention to detail moment, when our order was taken the waiter mentioned the sausages to me before I even asked, that tells me they think just as much about their canine customers as the human - great work team Crathorne.

Very good hotel, easy to get to, good service. One small fly in the ointment was that they phoned me at 6am and asked me to keep the noise down, which was strange as I was fast asleep in bed. They apologised for getting the wrong room number, but why didn’t they walk up to the floor before waking me up! Would have bee 5stars with out that mishap

We stayed here for a night for a family function. It ‘s a beautiful building and the entrance hall is stunning, beautiful curved ceiling in the hallway. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good but most of all we both felt the staff were excellent. Everyone was super helpful and friendly. Well done!

Booked a one night stay and had dinner and breakfast. Very friendly and genuinely so staff, from reception to dinning room made to feel very welcome. Room (Ormesby) excellent, air con (very welcome) nice views over the gardens, 4 poster bed and a huge bathroom inc bath and separate shower. Dinner service was first class and food well cooked, the online menu has a lot more than available on the night (I would change it to a more realistic one) the two items I had pre looked at as a first choice neither were on the actual menu. Minor point, enough to pick from and a good selection of wine. Breakfast is very old school with everything served to the table, makes a nice change again great choice and a well cooked full English. Very nice grand hotel, as you would expect from the word Hall. A nice full length mirror would be good addition to the room other than that very good.

May I first say this is the first time I’ve ever done this so please bear with me. On the eve of our 2 night stay to visit our grandson, my wife was rushed into hospital. Obviously the last thing on my mind was a call to cancel our booking. After 7 hours in A&E and numerous scans she was finally admitted and she’s on the mend. I called Crathorne’s reception and explained the situation and apologised the day we were to arrive. The lady on reception was fantastic and so was the lady she transferred me too on bookings! If this is the level of staff Crathorne Manor employs I can’t wait for the rearranged visit. I would just like to say, you both have my gratitude. Thank you
