We found this establishment very quaint and quirky, with high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, the bedroom was bright and airy, with a modern shower room. we had the pleasure of having an evening meal and breakfast, both were excellent, all courses were of the same quality and great value for money. We found the hosts and staff very professional,helpful... More

We have just returned from a six night stay at the George and Dragon one of many we have enjoyed over the last few years . We don't often comment on trip advisor but having seen some of the recent adverse comments about this hotel we felt that we should record our experiences. The George and Dragon is family run... Despite adverse tripadvisor comments about the hotel/pub.... we booked in before we left West Wales and on arriving at the place we saw what we expected..a village pub offering food, drink and accommodation....it is after all a 17th Century Coaching Inn...yes it looked old...!!! If the owners had gone up market and attempted to bring the place up to 21st... More

Disappointed with this place really. It could of been so so so much better but needs updating drastically. 1st impression when you pull into the car park is that it looks grubby. Welcome was low key, but friendly enough from the lady who might of been the owner or might not... no hello I'm so and so.. would of been... More

I have never been anywhere like this in my life. The food was revolting! I had straw in my dinner. Straw! The potatoes were completely raw and the hot pot resembled spaghetti Bolognese 😷😷 the atmosphere was horrible and very intimidating. The large man behind the bar was swearing about us complaining. There was even a sign up saying 'no... More

The george and dragon provided by far the worst food and awkward atmosphere I have ever experienced. The service was appalling was spoken to as if we were a nuisance being there. The atmosphere was so awkward we wish we would have taken the hint when we first walked in and run for the hills. Food was terrible scampi from... More

The inn was intended as a base for touring the dales so we fully expected it to be a little isolated. This was not a problem, there is a petrol station with grocery shop just at the end of the hotel car park. We arrived early evening to a friendly welcome. Checkin was quick. The rooms was clean and spacious with... More

Comfortable but rather small room with a view of the Dales at the extreme end of the pub. Bathroom well sorted with good heat. Bed was comfortable. Service was good and staff helpful. WiFi did not work in room but adequate in lounge and free. Had dinner in the restaurant. Food good without being exceptional. Bar has good choice of... More

This is a family run 'Inn' with lots of character and charm, perfectly situated for exploring the Dales. For walkers with dogs, pets are welcome everywhere except in the restaurant. Dedicated service from Collette, Elaine and John means that all guests receive personal attention even on a very busy bank holiday weekend.
