We stayed for one night after making a last minute booking and were very pleasantly welcomed by the open fire and friendly staff. Dinner was a surprise with complex dishes which made a real change from the normal restaurant fare that has become simpler over recent years. Lovely location and some great walking close by. We will stay again.

We stayed one night as a couple with a 4 year old. The welcome and building were charming. We ate in on our one night stay and the food was exceptional. Service again was charming but slow - had to chase up our wine which arrived after I'd eaten most of my main 😕 It's not really a young person's...

Easy to find, good parking, quiet location, smiling receptionist, unspoilt Victorian house. Several warm, comfortable lounges. Very comfortable and well-serviced bedrooms (Clean taps and bathroom tiles and the self-service kettle emptied). Good restaurant and an excellent cooked breakfast served on hot plates (hobby horse). The thing that makes it is the pleasant, observant staff - you don't have to ask...

Staff are excellent which makes staying here an experience rather than just a place for the night. The restaurant alone is worth the trip, great food. The village is very peaceful, we woke this morning to the sound of birds tweeting outside. We're looking forward to our next visit!

This is the third time we have stayed at the Traddock. The food has always been good but this time very different - for the good - there was no problem getting a good vegetarian alternative for our second night stay. The rooms are understated and comfortable but with attention to detail and very cosy.

Very Cosy Posh Bedroom A place with lots of character but not very friendly receptionist I have a feeling she was not in a mood to work I would have thought the proprietor would have made our stay a bit special for a big day Not even a Cake with a candle or glass of bubbly Was a bit disappointed

Always something different to tempt you, and always superb. Love the breakfast. Great walking opportunities, regardless of level of fitness or mobility. Can't say enough nice this about the place really. Well...

Booked a 2 night stay at The Traddock in the pretty village of Austwick and was not disappointed. Arrived late afternoon, welcomed by an open fire which gave a very cosy feel to this lovely property, greeted and made very welcome by Nicky on Reception. After been shown around, we were delighted by the room we were given, with open...
