We stayed at this Hotel for one night on our way to meet friends, we were very impressed with the cleanliness, customer service and everything about our stay was excellent. We knew the Hotel before it was taken over by the present company - it had always had a good reputation and the new company are living up to this and also surpassing it in some areas. All the staff were friendly, helpful, polite and courteous and worked well together as a team. Our room was spotlessly clean, lovely decor and pleasant temperature. There is a good size car park at the rear of the Hotel and also parking at the front of Hotel for 1 hour. The restaurant is beautiful, has a lovely airy feel, nice atmosphere, part of the restaurant has a large glass roof feature. The meals were brilliant and piping hot. The only concern we had was that the staff did not wear face masks when serving at tables. There were some tables with screens between the adjacent tables and the amount of people in the restaurant and bar area were monitored by staff also taking track and trace details of non residents, plenty of auto hand sanitizer around the Hotel. We would not hesitate in visiting this Hotel again.

Had a very pleasant lunch the waitress who greeted us on arrival, and took our details was very pleasant and helpful throughout our visit On leaving however i visited the toilets and discovered there where no flushing facilities With this build up of waste and the unpleasant odours i was unable to use the toilet facilities, it was an horrendous experience, i felt it was my duty to mention this to the Reception It was my belief that this information would be gratefully received, however the receptionist was extremely defensive regarding this information I would go as far to say she be came very aggressive and rude , expecting me to realise the ongoing issues the Hotel had been experiencing for the past 48 hours with the water situation I told the receptionist that she was being very defensive and rude, and that i was only trying to bring this issue to her attention which is what she is employed to do The receptionist is not employed to argue with paying customers regarding any issues they guest feel necessary to report to the front of house staff, and furthermore she was also rude to a work colleague whilst i was present In the present situation we find ourselves in it is difficult enough to put your trust in vising any establishment and this type of behaviour is most uncalled for

Good food and beer but.... We are all for helping towards government guidelines....but no cash excepted is one that we are confused by. Most importantly I find it hard when the tables outside were sat on by multiple people and NEVER wiped or sanitised. Hypocritical is the word I would use maybe Card machine wasn't wiped before or wiped after I had used it either. I would say this is worse than not excepting my cash as it has been used multiple times in the last few minutes If your going to not except my hard earned money then follow the same practice that you are preaching

Thank you for taking the time to send us this review. We take all comments onboard and use them to forever improve our guest journey. Full take on board comments about wiping the benches, this is a practise we usually do but but I will be sure to retrain staff to ensure this is being done. Card machines do get sanitised between each use but because the machines are stationed under the work surface This isn't always seen by guests. In regards to cash this has been implemented by our head office but I will be sure to pass your comments onto the team. We do hope to welcome you back in the future.

The Admiral Rodney is part of our favourite hotel chain, The Coaching Inn Group and have stayed in quite a few of their hotels, with return visits. We decided to try this hotel for a two night break, as we fancied a trip to the coast. A very pleasant hotel in the unspoilt town of Horncastle. Covid regulations were well organised in the hotel and we were given the choice of whether to have our room cleaned after the first night, which we declined. We had a large room overlooking the rear of the building, which had a very comfortable bed, and with two armchairs. We chose not to eat in the hotel, as the breakfast was not included on this deal. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, but our only slight criticism was that we felt the Reception staff were not as friendly as the other CIG Hotels we have stayed in!
