Didn`t stay here so cannot comment on the rooms. Would have preferred to give NO Stars for this "restaurant". Dreadful experience last night. Table was booked for seven o`clock. The meal took 1.5 hours to arrive from ordering. When the order was taken both my wife and I specified no chips, I asked for new potatoes, my wife asked for mashed potatoes, when the meal eventually arrived both had chips. I ordered a chicken, ham and leak pie, when I removed the puff pastry lid the filling was a pureed mess, no sign of any chicken, ham or leaks. The worst pie I have ever tasted, Needless to say, we will never return. My wife said I should have refused to pay but I am not that confrontational. The excuse from the staff was that the cook is in her seventies and "does things her own way". Make of this review what you want but my advise is to give this place a wide berth. BTW my wife was ill today..could it be anything to do with last night???

We stayed for one night bed and breakfast. We also had a meal in the restaurant in the evening. The hotel is very cosy and comfortable. We felt totally relaxed, especially in the bar area which is welcoming and friendly. The hotel has some considerable age to it (parts are listed) and has a rather intriguing atmosphere. We enjoyed a lovely evening meal. Myself and my husband had the restaurant to ourselves but it felt actually quite intimate. Staff are friendly and chatty and generous to guests, and it has a family atmosphere. Room was clean, comfortable bed and everything you could need. If you want a modern hotel that looks just like any other this won't be for you but if you can appreciate quaintness and individuality and like something a bit different, give it a try. Good variety of breakfast too.

We were going to a funeral and arrived early so popped into the half moon and had a very warm welcome and a nice cup of tea. The pub is quite large with different areas. There is a separate entrance for the tea room. Parking at the rear

The bar/lounge seating range includes rather hefty bar stools, chairs & tables plus armchairs and sofas.Ideal for lounging in the evening. Half of the rooms are on the ground floor which is good for those of us who don't like too many stairs, and these rooms are accessible by the rear entrance to the car park so the luggage does not have to be carried too far. All in all, a very relaxing stay for both myself and my wife.

Dog friendly and we were made very welcome. The food was excellent, well presented and delicious. Sadly no other customers, but understand day times are quiet and at night very busy. Excellent choice of menu. Clean and spacious. The premises are a short walk from the centre, limited parking, but park near the Coop and walk 10mins.
