Had a really pleasant stay with wife and dog. Generally good location and the food in the village pub was great. Room was perhaps a bit faded but frankly I don't expect fake polish and no character. Breakfast was prompt, filling and included. Nothing to complain about.

Having taken my daughter to university in Nottingham. Stayed one night on the recommendation of friend. Friendly welcome and comfy neat room. The bed was comfy and slept like a log. Value for money second to none and a breakfast as good as any and I've had some good ones.

We stayed for the night whilst visiting family in the area and we had a really good night’s sleep in a comfy en-suite room. The room had gorgeous old furniture which would suit patchwork quilts, white linen and old lace but somehow doesn't go with the bold modern decor (but that is just my personal taste). The breakfast was lovely... More

We were a little dubious about booking this B&B as the website pictures didn't look really good but after reading the reviews on this site we decided to go ahead a book it and we weren't disappointed. We booked two rooms as we were two couples going to a wedding at Halstead House, the rooms were clean and nicely decorated,... More

I stayed at this lovely B&B over the weekend to attend the opening of the beautiful newly refurbished Royal Oak pub in the village which is under new management. I had the room with the en suite and couldn't have been more delighted. I travel a lot with my job and stay in hotels all over the place paying three... More

We stayed recently when going to a wedding at Halstead House and had booked having found it on a Google search. We were expecting it to be fairly basic (particularly as it is really reasonably priced) but we were so pleasantly surprised at how clean and fresh it is with nice touches such as the tea/coffee/biscuits in the room. Our... More

This place is quite amazing value. It is in a very small pretty village in a beautiful part of rural England. Until a short time ago it was - the dairy farm. The breakfast is excellent,a true farm breakfast. We had a very nice twin room with basin, with our own bathroom seconds away down the corridor. Friends had a... More

I needed to find a good value B&B for a friend's wedding at nearby Halstead House (about 5 ish mins away) and came across this place after a Google search. First impressions were great, easy to find, parking behind the house, right on the farm (but not noisy when trying to sleep, complete opposite in fact!). Rooms are basic but... More

Melton seems to be a bit of a desert when it comes to value accommodation (not really a major destination or on the way to one I suppose, given it's position twixt A & M1). We chose Dairy Farm therefore based on reviews and then price. Turned out to be a good choice. The en-suite room was very pleasant warm... More

We stayed here on a genealogy trip. Some of my wife's ancestors came from this village. At first we were a little off put by the parking being in a muddy farmyard but the welcome was very warm and friendly. We had a twin room with its own private bathroom and the landlady didn't seem to mind our muddy feet... More
