We do not normally do sunday lunch, but just fancied it for a change. The Royal Oak is in the next village to ours, to very convenient. You are always guaranteed a warm welcome when entering the bar area. We like to eat in the bar as it has far more atmosphere than the dining room, and many locals pop... More

Visited with my wife for my birthday and enjoyed another excellent meal. We usually go for lunch but this was in the evening. From the Ox cheek tortellini and Ham Hock bonbons to the Rib Eye and Gammon everything was well prepared and as ordered. This restaurant has a regularly changing menu with some staples and as the title says... More

Visited The Royal Oak today on a works do. The place is very nice, on arrival staff are smiling, friendly and efficient. Meal was lovely. There were 16 of us and cannot fault the service or food. We all had a variety of starters, main and desserts. Definitely worth another visit that's for sure.

We visited for my birthday meal on 27th August and had a delicious three course meal. We both thought each course was delicious- the sharing platter for starters, the pigeon and the crab salad for mains and apple yoghurt cake and cheese board for pudding. Would recommend to anyone. The cheese board was worth a special mention as all of... More

My boyfriend took me here for our anniversary: - The service was excellent, the young gentleman with ginger hair was very kind and attentive. - Food .... Yum! I had the fish pie and what a surprise to have huge prawns AND scallops in it... What a treat! My boyfriend had the steak and in his words it was 'gorgeous'... More

A really good option for dinner, there is an early bird menu for early diners with significant savings on the normal price. The menu here is good with a nice range of options to suit every taste. The restaurant has a friendly vibe, with quite a few locals frequenting the bar area. The dining room is a little like eating... More

We visited the the Beer and Cider festival here on Sunday 28th August. Was a couple of quid to get in which was fine as it included all the entertainment and kids bouncy castle/slide etc. Great ciders and beers and lovely pie!! It was unfortunately ruined by inadequate supervision of the attractions. The girl supervising the ride looked just out... More
