Its middle of June and despite rain outside it is still warm. The hotel was way too hot. Relief to get outside. As a result sleep was disturbed. Also shower. It would be nice to stand upright under it. Some of us are over 6ft tall. Most relaxing 5 mins of the day spoilt as a result.

This was easily the worst Premier Inn I have visited and I have stayed in quite a few. I always usually like a Premier Inn as you know what you are getting. Not this time though! The room was very tired and in desperate need of an update. The bathroom was awful and falling apart at seams. The shower had no pressure at all and was barely a dribble, so you couldn’t even wash properly. Things didn’t improve for breakfast. The room in a pub next door was also tired and felt dirty, tables were sticky and food was average at best. Definitely not up to usual Premier Inn standards. My advice would be to find a different Premier Inn!

The positive aspect of staying at a Premier Inn is that you know what to expect, but this place was a little bit different. The hotel is a short drive away from the motorway and was a convenient place to break our journey from Scotland to Wiltshire. The receptionist Will made us feel welcome and was quite chatty. We had a room almost next door to the reception and overlooking fields at the rear of the hotel. The room was slightly smaller than many other Premier Inns and the same allied to the bathroom, which was quite small, but perfectly adequate for our needs. The decor in the bathroom was not the usual P.I. style, with blue tiles (only ever seen that in one other P.I.) This is the only Premier Inn I've stayed in that had something resembling a wardrobe, rather than just a hanging rail. The TV was perfectly adequate, although smaller than one comes to expect. Oddly the kettle base was screwed to the desk top! Have they had kettle thefts in the past? There is no lift or air conditioning in this hotel, which can be a bonus, or a nuisance, depending on the weather. Our stay was on a colder wet night and the electric heater kept the room warm, although it went off sometime overnight. A further difference with this place is that the adjacent restaurant isn't part of the Whitbread brand and therefore the usual "meal deal" option isn't available, although one can order a Premier Inn breakfast. Unless one takes full advantage of the Premier Inn breakfast having cereal, fruit, yoghurt, pastries and cooked breakfast etc., it would be cheaper to simply order a Full English from the pub menu, a lot cheaper then the full P.I. breakfast. Whilst the restaurant isn't associated with the hotel (being a Hungry Horse franchise) it's worth mentioning that the service and food was excellent when we ate there and certainly cheaper than Beefeater / Table Table / Brewers Fayre meals. Overall this hotel met our needs and if back in the area we would have no hesitation in staying there again.

From the moment we arrived in the pouring rain at 11.15 we were welcomed by Anne Marie on reception and her male colleague. We only expected to leave our over night bag somewhere safe, before heading off to a wedding locally. But Anne Marie and her colleague (sorry, don't know his name) actually helped to get our room ready even though check in shouldn't have been til 2pm. We were so so grateful. We were able to dry off and tidy ourselves up before getting in the taxi booked by Anne Marie herself. She was so friendly and interested in the wedding we were going to. It goes without saying that the Premier Inn lived up to the usual standards, the room and the breakfast top class. Thank you Anne Marie !

Stayed overnight at the Premier Inn when we attended my Niece's wedding breakfast and evening reception in the locality. Excellent stay, no problems, had a good night's sleep and the full English breakfast was very good the following morning. The lady that took the breakfast orders was lovely too.
