We booked into the Avenue Hotel the night before our daughter got married at a local venue. We had booked 5 rooms for ourselves, our daughter and her 7 bridesmaids. All the rooms were great but our daughter got a suite. What a fantastic room! So spacious the Bride and Bridesmaids were all able to easily fit in to practice... More

Booked last minute for a relaxing night away with my husband. Friendly receptionist who showed us to a very lovely spacious room with a good sized bathroom. It was a relaxing environment and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Our meal was very good and reasonably priced. Overall a lovely experience and we would definitely go back.

This hotel had an odd location: it was accessed through a guarded gate as part of a gated housing estate, set next to a football training ground. But this wasn't a problem. The hotel was very clean when I stayed and the staff both helpful and pleasant. The only negative was the need to drive to most places, though there... More

Don't trust this hotel with online bookings!!! Booked 3 rooms at this hotel in August 2015 for Friday 29 July and Saturday 30 July 2016 as my son was getting married in a village nearby. Phoned The Avenue to check the booking on Wednesday 27 July and the hotel confirmed everything was ok. On Friday morning, Dennis, the hotel manager,... More

We had a booking for a twin room and a family room here that we placed three months ago. Despite this, and the fact I'd spoken to the hotel twice that week, including the morning before we travelled, they called me to inform us that they couldn't accommodate us. They'd booked us into another hotel and it took two angry... More

I booked the room at the last minute. Good car parking and efficient reception service. We were shown to our room (one of twenty) and our bag was taken by the member of staff. Large bedroom with an equally large bed and tea and coffee making facilities. Very clean and modern décor. On our return from a family gathering, we... More

We had booked a suite for a one night Saturday stay for my husbands birthday. (23 July 16) Upon arrival we were welcomed warmly by Dennis who checked us in smoothly and took us to the Fleming Suite. Very pleasantly surprised with the space - a large lounge area with the bedroom and bathroom separate. Very clean and fresh in... More

Male older receptionist; very slow and lacked any personality. Damp smell at reception area. The reception and bar area looked very nice. Little things make the rest of the hotel look cheap like A4 pieces of paper with reception on the walls for directions. rooms: no air con, very warm, bed uncomfortable, toilet wouldn't flush (had to press 7/8 times)... We stayed for 2 nights in one of the suites which was very spacious and comfortable. The staff were all friendly and helpful, particularly Dennis. The only disappointment was the very tiny shower in a large suite. The area is quiet with a local pub and Whalley is close by. Good area for walking. Very enjoyable break and we will... More

We stayed here for one night , communal areas nice and inviting , staff very friendly , breakfast very good but the ground floor room we had (10) needed general maintenance on it,,, attention to detail counts especially as it had won 4 in a bed, the toilet door was filthy , the bottom of the bed was all tatty,...
