Chose this hotel from a Red Letter Day gift. It is in a beautiful setting with a golf course. A very friendly telephone call when booking was replicated when we arrived at the hotel. Our room (21) was spacious and very clean as was the bathroom. On going down to make dinner enquiries we decided to head to the dining room. Gemma made us so welcome, explained the very full menu and was most attentive throughout our service. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was freshly cooked on hot plates.. We stayed two excellent nights. Breakfast was plentiful and, again, nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Husband and I delighted with the hotel and our visit. Will be travelling here again as we regularly travel to Scotland and this is mot far from the M6.

Lovely hotel nice and clean breakfast to die for but staff attitude front of house is disgusting no manners and could do with people skills training. Wedding was beautiful the room looked stunning food was scrumptious. Bedroom are a bit dated but comfy beds and was really warm in there. We had a lovely time and would definitely stay again x

Ordered a ciabatta and onion rings. Both burnt. Ordered a large gam on steak, edible but dry. Also had my first burnt pineapple. Novel but not my idea of great food. Shame as staff are really nice. Will eat here again and will post update if food improves. This may be a one off.

Came here with a large group of golfers on a two rounds dinner B&B package. The golf course was interesting and well maintained for a pay and play. The course has some demanding par3s and a few long par4s, the greens are relatively small but well tended. The holes by the rivers are very picturesque. The hotel staff are very friendly and the hotel is clean and very well kept. The rooms are of good size, beds comfortable and showers etc good. The dinner was very good with a choice of starters, mains and deserts... particularly liked the haddock main and the sticky toffee pudding. The wine and beer choice was good and reasonably priced. Enjoyed the separate area with pool table, darts etc. The breakfast was of good quality and good choice. A thoroughly good stay at a very reasonable realistic price, I wouldn't hesitate to return.
