Wow, what a magical, tranquil place to stay. Everything was excellent, from the call in advance for any dietary requirements, the warm friendly welcome, showing us around the wonderful historic rooms and to our beautiful, well-appointed and comfortable bedroom. The breakfasts were delicious and in fantastic surroundings, served by lovely cheerful, helpful staff. It is set in a fabulous position... More

Whilst not much remains standing, with some help from the Guide Book, and a view of the Large Model, a picture can be formed in the brain of how things will have been. Even the parts still standing are quite breath taking, with architectural insights all around. Great place to spend a lunchtime break or picnic. And now with an... More

I was staying at Whalley Abbey for a church conference on Preaching with Imagination for Blackburn Diocese's Lay Readers. Church conferences and Retreats are Whalley Abbey's main residential events - though they also are well equipped for Wedding Receptions and offer B&B. The rooms are very comfortable and the food really excellent. The grounds and the remains of the old... More

The well preserved ruins of Whalley Abbey are not to be missed when visiting this area of Lancashire. The history of the abbey is fascinating and the grounds are beautifully tended. Lovely gardens and riverside walk. The cafe is quite attractive and the toilets clean. When we visited, no one was on duty at the kiosk so entry was free... More

First of all, let me apologise to the management of Whalley Abbey for the late review of the Abbey and its grounds as I sought the views from my daughter and her newly married husband. Our daughter Rosanne and her fiancée were married at Whalley golf club on Sunday 2nd of August, just a stones throw from the abbey early... More

My family stayed at Whalley Abbey in August 2015 and we cannot speak highly enough of the quality of hospitality, surroundings and accommodation at the Abbey. Their customer service is excellent and the staff team are generous and friendly. The breakfast is locally sourced food for the full English and a nice selection of continental choices. The Abbey grounds are... More

The preserved remains of Whalley Abbey are worth visiting. The history of the abbey is fascinating and the grounds are beautiful. Lovely gardens and river walk. A new cafe should also be opening soon, so I'll be going back to see what it's like. Only £2 to go in and no parking costs. Good value.

We have shared the best wedding day ever at Whalley Abbey on 25th April 2015. Our son and his new wife chose the Abbey as their venue - "stunning"! Thanks to the wonderful staff who helped us to plan and deliver a fantastic, stress free day - can't thank you enough! Everyone commented on the beautiful venue, fab food and... More

We were attending a wedding in Mitton Hall nearby to Whalley. We had travelled up from South of England the morning of the wedding. The staff at the Abbey arranged for us to check into our rooms at 11.30 to freshen up before going to the wedding. The Abbey is set in beautiful grounds. The staff were friendly and helpful....
