Went for afternoon tea with colleagues and family of the bride and enjoyed a great afternoon. Food was plentiful and very tasty and the service was excellent despite there being a big wedding on as well. We were in a lovely panelled room which was perfect for the group size. Highly recommended.

Our daughter got married here and I must say it was a fantastic venue, the staff were very helpful and couldn't do enough for us. I was impressed with Michael who met and greeted us, he had a knack for calming the bridal party's nerves. From a rainy start to a sunny late afternoon the day went without a hitch.... More

We had our wedding at Mitton Hall and stayed over that same night, obvs. The wedding was amazing....it went exactly as we had planned it with Zoe, our wedding planner, and the staff were all amazing; the way they served food as a part of the wedding breakfast, for example, was extremely professional and added a nice touch. Michael, our... More

I was part of a party of four out to celebrate my father's 80th birthday, so basically myself, my father and my sister with her partner. I'd previously worked for a former owner of Mitton Hall and had been in charge of the landscaping and subsequent maintenance for a few years, so was interested to to visit again after a... More

Absolutely incredible. From the moment we booked at Mitton Hall, Paige and Zoe were on hand with answers to all our questions. They were more than happy to help with anything we needed. We enjoyed numerous events in the build up to the big day, including a taster meal and the DFC music event (where we were so impressed we... More

Came in June for a family meal with parents who had not yet attended, prior to daughter's wedding here next year. We were all in high spirits and looking forward to our meals but were disappointed to say the least with the meals and service. My mother ordered a fish starter but the fish wasnt cooked properly and had to... More

Last weekend i was a bridesmaid at my sister in laws wedding and wow, what a venue! The place is simply stunning and the events staff were superb! I need to mention Emma specifically because the women is an absolute godsend! The venue was beautiful, the food was great and the accommodation is perfect. What more can you ask for.... More

We came for the afternoon tea which was great with a really nice selection of sandwiches and cakes. They catered to all our requests and with unlimited tea and coffee, including the speciality coffees, made it a great value for money. The staff were really welcoming and friendly and let us stay for a long time and take pictures in... More

Went here for my birthday in June . Afternoon tea very disappointing , poor selection , hard ,dry scones (we sent them back only to have same returned but warmed to soften in microwave) Unimaginative cakes. Nothing special, our local tea rooms serve much better cakes. Would expect a 4 star hotel to have a pastry chef displaying his skills... More

Lovely, decadent, posh. Mitton Hall used to be 'the old stone house' it was always a fabulous venue, however, James Warburton has transformed it into a rather more grande environment. We had afternoon tea for my birthday, the food was excellent ( more cake than sandwich), I realised upon entry that any attire goes (I wore my best jeans & shirt) the... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A four star country house hotel providing luxury accommodation at the heart of the fabulous Ribble Valley. Our big idea for bringing this magnificent 15th Century manor house back to life was to take it back to its roots and make it feel like a home again. Somewhere that looks and feels like it belongs to somebody. Stunning interior design and decoration perfectly complement the ancient architectural features to create a contemporary country house hotel. Both effortlessly beautiful and unashamedly romantic. The ambience is quite unique. It is certainly luxurious and feels exclusive but the luxury and exclusivity are open to all. From a relaxing morning coffee or afternoon tea, to lunch or dinner and for everything in between. ... more   less
