Visited Monday evening and really enjoyed the atmosphere, really relaxed pub that serves nice simple food, good wine and ales all at great prices. The staff are really friendly and welcoming, real country pub.

a lovely pub with great food, I had the steak and ale pie with mash My husband had cheese and onion pie and chunky chips. Our dog was very welcome with a water bowl out ready for him. Prices were reasonable. We will return in the future. Staff we happy to have a chat, home from home.

I have visited this pub many times for the odd pint whilst in the area and always found it friendly and serving good ales. On these occasions there seemed to be many happy diners. So today decided to have lunch. As usual enjoyed a good pint whilst scanning the menu which offered standard pub fare - suggesting mainly frozen. Instead... More

We spent two nights here last week, very comfortable accommodation above the pub, very good if you wanted to have a drink and not have to drive anywhere. Nice meals, very friendly locals who made us feel very welcome once they heard our Aussie accents. So nice to see so many dogs in the place, even in the areas where... More

Went here on 1st May for a meal with family, lovely welcoming pub with friendly staff and good beer. Dog friendly which is always a plus in my book. Food reasonably priced and very tasty. Not going to win any awards but no complaints with anything either. Would recommend.

We hired the barn function room this weekend . Excellent venue for our planned folk night. Karl , Fiona and Emma could not do enough to help us. We ordered a hot pot supper which was cooked onsite with local ingredients they even surprised us with putting an 80 in pastry on the crust. Karl made a point of finding... More

It was early evening on a Wednesday when we visited so we thought atmophere might be lacking. However, the barmaid really nice and friendly which ALWAYS makes a difference and other customers seemed settled in for the evening. We sat in the front bar with a lovely real fire and chose starters and 'small' main courses. To be honest, the... More

Called here last night because the Black horse was closed. Lovely place with friendly staff, but the food lets the place down. Ordered their version of chicken supreme, it came on a bed of chorizo & black pudding with a red wine jus. The chicken breast was wrapped in a slice of bacon but was quite dry, the chorizo had...
