A little tired and could do with an update but very clean, comfortable and quiet. I should imagine it isn't so quiet at weekends as there is a nightclub next door. Friendly and helpful owners and very good value.

Short stay to our destination. Polite family run place, quirky for a £40 b&b. The price reflects the rooms you get. It's a quiet place and off a quiet little road. Bar area was a little untidy too be honest, random mattress in bar area? Why? Worth a visit I guess if breaking a 6/7 hour journey to Scotland. Cheap... More

The place itself is old and could do with a few updates however, it has character and a good feel to the place. The room was comfortable and clean and the beds were really good. Not a lot of choice from breakfast but you get what you pay for and so what they offer is in keeping with the price.... More

This is a cheap hotel old and tired. However it's clean and , the bathrooms ok, the beds are ok. The place doesn't do evening meals so you have to get a taxi or drive down the road , as an overnight stopover it's fine .The breakfast is cereals and toast , I'm struggling to say much about the place... Marie and David always make you feel welcome and are always helpful. The room is cleaned every day, comfortable bed for a great nights sleep in a nice quiet setting. Thanks Marie and David I look forward to staying at the Hunters Lodge again.

Arrived and felt welcomed and at home straight away :) stayed for 2 nights with my girlfriend and our dog, Bosley. £20 pound a night over the bank holiday weekend is undeniably good value. Woke late on our departure date and breakfast was still open for us. The owners are lovely. I will definitely recommend and will definitely stay again.... More

One word. CHEAP! Description: Rooms terrible, run down hellhole, fire exits obstructed, fire alarms (the break glass in emergency types) gaffer-taped over. Will never stay there again, no matter how desperate. PS. Roof is leaking too...

This couple, consisting of an American and a Brit, made this home base upon our arrival from Manchester Airport and again for a few days before departure. Great place to rest, relax, and enjoy the pleasant hospitality. Although the rooms may be slightly dated, it's a million times better than a boring Travel Lodge type of chain. This is family... A family run establishment that has stayed the course through recession (not helped by the lack of rent from the sub-letters in the Baku lounge next door). We arrived early as we were going geocaching in the area and just popped in to ask if it was okay to leave our car on the car park and come back in... More
