I stayed here on Saturday night for a meal with family and friends. The hotel is tastefully decorated in an old fashioned way but saying that everything works beautifully. We had a bedroom at the back of the hotel on the ground floor which was well laid out if a little dark but this was probably due to the darkness... More

We stayed at this hotel (me, my husband and 4 month old) in July. We were put in room 23 - an executive double. It was clean, the room was a good size and we had everything we needed. All staff seemed very nice and went out of thier way for us. The decor is a bit quirky, there were... More

Stayed here last night (16th July). Checked in at 2pm, given keys and shown to room 35 in the coach house. It was brilliant, clean tidy and had everything we wanted. Went for breakfast at 8.15am and had lovely waitresses attend to us straight away, the full English was absolutely beautiful, best I've ever had in a hotel! Only little... More

We highly recommend this friendly, interesting, intriguing, family run hotel. As you enjoy the beautifully cooked food either in the dining room or enjoy your breakfast in the conservatory, feast your eyes on the many wonderfully restored and maintained features of the house. The history of the house is all around you and the staff and family make you feel... More

This is an excellent Hotel. We booked a standard room which was amazing but they also have luxury rooms which I think we may sample at a later date. Breakfast was good and the staff were friendly and helpful

Myself and my husband stayed here for one night recently. We had a fantastic room which was like a mini apartment. Lovely colors and decorations. The house is a lot larger than it seems on the outside. Clean and comfy nights sleep. My only suggestion was to get more staff to help with breakfast. There were no clean tables when... More

Stayed here for a family event. Made to feel very welcome by very friendly and helpful staff. An older building with some nice original features. Stayed again in spacious room 5 which is part of the original building and therefore somewhat quirky. Excellent breakfast. Very enjoyable Moorlands bottled beers!

This was a period hotel building with rooms separately and tastefully furnished at an affordable price. Our room was large and comfortable, and furnished in keeping with the building which had some very lovely ceilings and architecture. The staff were attentive and pleasant and the restaurant and bar served all our needs in food and drink and in comfortable surroundings.The... More

My sister and I stay here twice a year, usually in January and June, and we have just returned home from our summer trip. The hotel is a wonderful old house with great charm and character. As usual, the staff bend over backwards to look after us and we always enjoy our stay here. The value of the room and... More
