Whatever you do don't arrive early and hope you'll be able to check in, the reception staff are immovable objects, even though all the rooms are ready upstairs. When you do get to your room you will find it 'cosy', don't bring your cat though cos you won't be able to swing it! I hope you can do a 3... More

As food-lovers my wife and I wanted to discover "The Sportsman", the best gastro-pub in the UK. We booked the nearby Hotel Continental in Whitstable and it proved to be a very positive surprise. The small hotel was refurbished recently and they did a great job. The hotel has a style combining Scandinavian simplicity with a young bohemian twist. Rooms... More

The location is good, a very short walk into town but right on the sea front. Apparently the rooms had all been upgraded and our room looked fine on entry, big comfortable bed but, oh dear on second floor and no lift. It was along way for older folk to drag their cases. The only bedroom plug was yards from... More

We booked a double for £75 and were chuffed that they'd upgraded us to a room with a sea view. Great room, clean, good size, beautiful views, a treat to lie in bed and look out to sea! Location was good, a bit of a walk into town but it's pleasant walking along the harbour, so would happily do it... More

We had a lovely stay here, and really enjoyed ourselves. The location of the hotel is great - a short walk out of town, but enjoying its own beachfront position, with far reaching views over the Thames estuary. The staff were all lovely, and it was great to receive such a warm and genuine welcome. The room was clean and... More

Would revisit the Hotel if I was in the area. Had a small room with no sea view (those appeared to be the rooms with Odd numbers) but very happy with room 6, its comfy bed, and its suntrap of a balcony. This was very close to those in the next door room so would be great for families or... More

We stayed here for two nights for a family wedding. And wow weren't we lucky? The Hotel looked after my husband and I, son and his lady friend, and our daughter with husband and our two grandsons. We were all treated superbly well with our six year old absolutely loving the pancakes which he made thanks to the machine for... More

This is a lovely hotel fronting the beach at Whitstable - a little out of the main quaint town but within walking distance. Hotel is spotlessly clean and booking very easy. Service style is contemporary and relaxed, bordering on a little too relaxed...and the food wasn't really the standard we were expecting in this gastronomic destination but perfectly ok. When... Booked a table for 15 adults for evening dinner (during Oyster Festival). Good table position overlooking the seafront. Staff were very efficient and friendly. Restaurant and facilities very clean. Good menu selection and not too big a choice, thankfully. I like it when restaurants specialise in a select menu. PGI Osyters went down well as well as the Grilled Seabass... More

We booked the std double room awaiting refurbishment. On that basis I'll excuse some of the little things that were not okay. Room fairly small but adequate. Bed should be repositioned against another wall so that both sides have a bedside table. Ensuite nice and nice quality toiletries provided. Windows have been replaced by smart upvc sash Windows. Hotel is... More
