We stayed at this hotel in January 2016. We travelled with 4 friends who had paid for us to stay here so no idea of the cost. The room we had was very spacious and clean and very warm. The breakfasts was of good quality and big enough to set you up for the day. We had a meal in... More

Eleven adults and four kids, seamless service and absolutely outstanding roasts. Special mention for the lamb which was pink perfection. Extremely generous portions. Meal at £15 a head and wine averaging £17 a bottle, the place is on the best form I've known in the eleven years I've been in whitstable. For comfortable, unpretentious and high quality food at this... More

Visited this place recently for a meal with family and friends. The tapas meal was really delicious and more than plenty served up for the number of folk present. At £15 the meal was good value. We were served whole sea bass, delicious hot prawns, with roasted peppers and salad, steak slices, chicken with broccoli and baby potatoes. We returned home... More

Stayed for a weekend at the Duke of Cumberland and loved it. Fantastic location in the heart of Whitstable. The rooms may not be luxurious but are adequate and good value. The full English breakfast is huge - not for the faint of heart. The large bar seemed to be full throughout the weekend with live music on offer a... More

We had some very nice fish and chips / Prawn Salad last year. This year I came for a beer and a sandwich whilst the wife was shopping in the labyrinth on the high street. Pint was good but no bar food on a Sunday! I saw diners in on the dance floor (the restaurant) - but they had 'booked... More

Recently stayed with friends (4 rooms booked). Would not recommend. Room 3 no mattress cover, bed head was in need of replacement, no view other than wall, flat roof and down pipes and toilet could have done with a good clean - also bathroom door would not close which also was the case in another room. One of the rooms... More

( I am updating my review as for some reason it initially said 4 stars when I meant to give it 5!) It was my first time staying above a pub so didn't know what to expect - we chose to stay here through a recommendation from a friend. It was an absolutely lovely choice. Rooms are cosy but very... We meet up with friends a few times a year and usually stay in different places in Kent, this is our third time in Whitstable but first time staying here, it won't be the last. Had a very friendly welcome from a lady who took us straight up to our room and for the money we paid, we were pleasantly... More

Excellent location, Lovely staff, great breakfast, amazing room and definitely value for money. Only one small issue, which was the shower, took a while to get warm and the water came out quite slowly. Other than that we had a lovely stay and would highly recommend this hotel.
