Came here after a disappointing experience elsewhere, should have just come here in first place as you know the food and service is always top notch. Even though quite busy we were served promptly and efficiently, I had cod & chips and husband had baby back ribs, both good size portions and top quality. The new seating area outside (front)... Recently went here for a birthday meal, booked a gazebo in the garden. Great service with a button which then ensured table service. Excellent concept and great food and drinks, definitely a place to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon, make sure you visit

Unfortunately our welcome was far from warm. It seemed we had stopped the greeter doing more important work. However, onward and upward to our room. This was spacious and very comfortable. Sadly the bath water drained away very slowly and the shower controls proved to be somewhat baffling. I was surprised that breakfast was not included. We decided to eat... More

Lovely pub and gardens. The food was really good with excellent menu choices. It is a very busy pub, both the restaurant and outdoor eating areas were packed over last weekend when were there. However we were able to enjoy sumptous breakfasts with only the residents for company. The owner and his staff were very friendly and attentive. Our bedroom... More

Excellent food and lodgings - refurbished and clean. But the staff could certainly use a crash course i service, attitude and manners! A gastropub with a great menue and winelist. The accomodation is great : well equipped room with high comfort. Unfortunately none of the attendants seem to recognise the fact that the "guest is king" - on the contrary... More

The pub and lovely garden were fine but the room was a real disappointment with single glazed windows, which steamed up overnight and a tap in the bathroom sink which was broken. There was a noisy water tank above us in the loft (Room 1) which filled every time water was used .... so not a good nights sleep at... More

We had a very pleasant and comfortable overnight stay, two rooms, whilst attending wedding in nearby Hildenborough. The Carpenters Arms is quietly situated and the rooms/bathrooms were very clean. Brilliant shower. Staff were very helpful and breakfast great. Plenty of parking. Would recommend..

We visited the Carpenters Arms for a leisurely mid week late lunch and were not disappointed by the ploughman's served with a choice of cheeses and meats and bread plus all the trimmings such as chutney grapes and apple on a wooden board. Nice outside eating area as well as nice inside, preferring bar to restaurant area for a more... More

Went for breakfast this morning. Food was very good, reasonably priced but the service was woefully slow. We were not in a rush but it still took the best part of an hour and a half. There only seemed to be one person taking orders and serving, although later on there seemed to be more people setting up for the... More
