We stayed here overnight as a group of 6 to celebrate a friends birthday and had an amazing stay. We booked 3 adjacent suites overlooking the river. Really comfy beds, with fabulously appointed bathrooms and french windows leading to a small patio area with a table and 2 chairs. The hotel was very well run, the manager was charming, nothing was too much bother, and top notch covid measures were clearly in place. We enjoyed a drink in the bar and then breakfast the following morning - great choice of food. We would come back in a flash.

There was construction work going on all night on the road outside which didn't help. Literally like living in a building site. Not really their fault but no warning, our friend asked for a quiet room and the put him directly opposite it, which was actually quite funny for everyone else but him. Rooms were clean but average really. Food was very poor in the restaurant the night before. Mussels were dry and overcooked with little flavour. I honestly would stay elsewhere Stayed up and listened to the election. No choice.

Absolutely beautiful hotel steeped in local history, amazing service, food and value for money. I had gigs with sourdough bread with honey infused marscapone for breakfast! Absolutely delicious! Near to Sandwich Bay for walking and swimming

We stayed as a family of three for a three night stay. Natasha and the hotel staff went above and beyond in every way. I was concerned about staying somewhere during current Covid times but the staff couldn't have made things any safer. Masks were worn by all at all times, keys were sanitized on each use (and we handed ours in a god few ties each day when we went off exploring). Nothing was too much trouble, the staff were incredibly friendly and efficient. We arrived too early one morning for breakfast but that wasn't an issue. The food was delicious. We only ate dinner one night so can;t comment as much on evening food but breakfast was great. The only reason I'm not leaving five stars is because I want the hotel chain to see that they are lacking on their part. They need to show this hotel some of the love that the staff do and that it deserves. It's a beautiful building and obviously takes a lot of upkeep - the staff do a fantastic job but it needs some money spending where it is a little tired around the edges. (Carpets, windows, bathrooms) The rooms are big, bright and airy. (We really missed hearing the church bells when we got home to London). And Sandwich is a lovely town full of very friendly people.

Visited with 3 friends for lunch yesterday, lovely place right on the quay with welcoming friendly staff & a great menu to choose from. All our dishes were perfectly cooked, delicious & well presented & service was great. Very good Covid measures in place, would definitely recommend a visit.
