Our stay was of course enhanced by the gorgeous weather - but the idea of booking a sea view room with a view was the best thing we could have done. We stayed at this lovely hotel for 2 nights as part of my 50th Birthday celebrations and we were not disappointed. The room was lovely and as mentioned, the...

We stayed here for two nights after our wedding in March and we had an excellent time! The weather was fab and really showed off margate and the hotel to its best. Our room was really lovely - we had a sea view with a small balcony and amazing view over the bay! And breakfast was delicious too. Would definitely...

We discovered the Sands through the Daily Telegraph which promoted this boutique hotel. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed and shown to our room (14) on the top floor. Spacious, delightfully furnished, excellent linens, doors opening onto a small balcony complete with chairs and a table, with a lovely view over the beach and the sunset. Dinner was included one...

Sands have a Jazz night twice a month. Initially it was one but I guess it was so popular they upped it to two. The "package" was very good. Bed, breakfast, three course evening meal and the jazz, initially for as little as £120 for 2 people. That price increases with the better rooms and its now slightly more. I...

This hotel is one of the best that we have stayed in worldwide!! Rebuilt some 4 years ago, the hotel exudes quality throughout. The standard of fittings in the bedrooms, lounge, dining-room and even in the stairwell is exceptional. Add to that really good food and friendly service and the result is a most enjoyable experience. Shame about Margate though....

Stayed one night in dormer room on 4th floor. Room spacious and well appointed and quite modern considering the location. Bed comfortable. Lighting good for reading. Desk space is small. Good closets and can make tea and coffee in room. Small balcony where you can sit, although to see the ocean you have to stand up. WiFi was strong although...

We booked a "couples getaway" charged at £250 for a single night. When booking I assumed at this price it would include dinner but it turned out this was not the case so we had to eat elsewhere. On arrival the people at the reception desk were pretty off hand and did not show us up to our room or...

This is a really good hotel at a good price. Our room was comfortable, modern, peaceful and spacious, and although without windows, curtains and glass cabinet cleverly gave the illusion of a window. The focal point of the hotel is the high ceiling-ed dining room/bar which runs from the front terrace overlooking the bay to the entrance on the high...

Don't be fooled by the modest exterior! This is a stylish, comfortable hotel, with excellent food and service. Had superb dinner, chicken terrine to die for and delicious lamb and sea bass. Didn't try the puddings but great cheese board. Very close to beach and Turner Contemporary. Very nice bedroom with both bath and separate shower ensuite. Comfortable piano bar....
