Lovely hotel very different and well worth a visit. Superb food and afternoon teas. Great rooms and service. Old hotel with squeaky floors and a old fashion gated lift opposite the sea and bowls. The owner is lovely she does anything she can to make your stay a good one. Nice outside area to sit and watch the world go... More

My mum and I arrived on a Saturday. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room I had was beautiful and has a lovely view. The Sunday breakfast was absolutely delicious and was beyond my expectations. The hotel museum is a must as I learnt about the history of this place and the area. Having travelled from Australia this... More

Stepping into the Walpole Bay Hotel is like stepping back in time. The owner is so passionate about the place it's infectious and staff go out of their way to help and please. Quaint, quirky and so much more interesting than the usual hotel Comfortable bed, great breakfast and a sea view. What more could you ask? My thanks to... More

From the outside you might wounded but once in its like home from home. So friendly, nothing was too much trouble. All our friends who stayed wanted to stay longer. Food was great and so much you struggle to finish it. The anniversary party went great, everyone enjoyed it. can't wait to go back. Thanks :-)

We celebrated our wedding anniversary back in 2013 at the Walpole Bay and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and decided to once again celebrate in this unusual Hotel in 2016. We once again found ourselves feeling it was a place that you could really call " home from home". Everyone seemed very friendly, the staff especially, the food was excellent, the bed... More

If you see through the clutter you will be pleasantly surprised, the hotel is definitely quirky and is full of character. The staff are extremely efficient and really welcoming, all well supervised by the owner Jane who leads with her enthusiasm and obvious love of the hotel. The food whilst fairly simple is freshly and well cooked

after searching for something around Margate, only to find their prices were just rediculously high, we decided to stay just outside in Cliftonville. Average pricing, clean bedding, comfortable bed, bathroom clean and updated. We stayed with our two young girls aged 5 and 2 who aren't easy to manage at the best of times. The staff were friendly, helpful and... More

A bit run down, a bit quirky, living on an age old reputation. Rooms are clean and well maintained, although I found the bed very firm. Common areas are the wrong side distressed, and could benefit from some proper cleaning and a paint up. Dining room window sills were covered with dead flies and spiders....not very pleasant at all. Breakfast... More

We only popped in for a coffee as we are property hunting in the immediate vicinity. We were thrilled to think that this would be on our doorstep. Lovely surroundings, very friendly and obliging staff. We will visit regularly for sure. Thank you for a lovely experience.
