The Reception - there was no real reception area, we went into the bar next door first and then were directed into the restaurant, no welcome, had to pay before seeing the room (this should have been a warning). The rooms are accessed via the back entrance, which was pretty grim, and dirty, cigarette ends and rubbish which remained there... More

In a year or so this place will be fine. The restaurant is being refurbished so reception is a builders yard. But the staff are polite and friendly. They resolved our lack of towels quickly. We had a huge family room, which was good value for money. Breakfast, though chaotic, was fab. My kids have never eaten so much. I... More

you finish the refurbishment quickly, improve the back of the hotel, get proper staff, don't allow them to drink alcohol at their workplace and get rid of some sort of guests in the pub... maybe then you can build this business up and make it a small attractive hotel.

Omg!! Basil Fawlty eat your heart out. Manuel would have done better behind the bar! The barman was drunk, couldn't understand what we wanted, left the pub twice to stagger up the road and back, for no apparent reason? Overpriced, more guiness on side of glass than in it and the cherry on the top? A random guy, who had... More

Stayed here for one night on a trip. First impression is that it is a tip. Yes, it is being worked on, but if they want to keep using it as the same time there shouldn't be rubbish in the car park and the interior should be properly sealed off from the building area. First impression of the room was... More

Couldn't speak more highly of the manager and his team. Hotel itself was what you would imagine for the money but the manager exceeded our expectations and went above and beyond for us. Its a great location in town with easy access to several nice restaurants and it's also the only place in town to watch the football!

Pretty average , not much choice of beer. limited seating. The toilets were a building site ,wet paint, no signs to say whether you were entering the Gents or Ladies! The service was ok but nothing really here that would make me want to visit again sadly.

Just 1 night because it was close to the channel tunnel. Good news was that the bed and towels were nice and fresh and clean but the room was in real need of refurbishment and needs new furniture, carpets and decorating both bedroom and bathroom. The restaurant was in bits and looked as though it was a very long term... More

An OK hotel to use while working in the area, the room was clean with tea coffee making. The restaurant in being refurbished and is due to open soon breakfast was serviced in the bar area and was done at the time I needed it to get to work on time. OK for staying while working but probably not a... More
