This hotel was booked by me as I was attending a summer concert at Rochester Castle called "SOUL PARTY." Coincidentally enough, there was a themed night of entertainment at the King Charles Hotel on the same night billed as "CAR WASH" and by the look of the people attending in fancy dress costume, then it must have been a lot... Prior to our trip I enquired about having a room which overlooked the courtyard area and when we arrived our room was indeed overlooking the courtyard area, nice and quiet. The room itself was a nice size and quite clean, The staff overall on our 4 night stay were really friendly and professional, nothing was too much trouble. The bar... More

Ok, so it's not the newest of places to stay, it does need a bit of work on it, but as an independent hotel, you can't expect it to look like a Hilton! It has plenty of parking, all the staff are very friendly and helpful, breakfast was great and the bar prices were very good for a hotel. We... More

OK hotel. A little bit tired and could do with modernising, but room was OK, bed was OK, shower was OK. Breakfast was pretty decent too (They even had Quorn for vegetarians). Be warned though, there is some kind of Night Club attached to this hotel (They seem to put on themed nights at the hotel), but when we got... More

I'm finding it hard to understand the reviews slating this place, maybe a little dated in decor but otherwise i found it excellent in every aspect, especially the cheerful staff demeanour and quality of food. I'll definitely stay again.

Our room had an adjoining door to another bedroom that didn't lock. We complained about it (as did the guests next door) and they moved the other guests. The hotel then proceeded to put more people in that room. We had to put furniture in front of the door in order to feel safe. We complained about this on checkout,... More

Rooms a good size. Staff so helpful. Breakfast good. Good size bathroom. Bar OK. Opening hours a bit erratic.what makes this hotel stand put is its location. We went In to the O2 and Canterbury which is a lovely spot. The backbone of this smashing place is without doubt the staff. From the restaurant staff to the reception staff to... More

Only a fleeting visit due to visiting a client in the area the following day. On arrival the lady on reception was very friendly and helpful, she explained how to get to my room and what facilities were available in the hotel and where to find them (e.g lounge bar & breakfast room). I had a double room overlooking the... More

My stay at the King Charles started badly when their online booking site crashed. When I eventually booked at reception, and I went to my room, there were already three people there. This mix up, however, was quickly resolved. And the next day, the hotel staff were extremely helpful, opening the bar early to cater for my friends and me... More

My daughter and I were attending a judo event at the nearby Medway Park Leisure centre. Small issue at check in which was quickly resolved - had a twin room which was clean and comfortable and overlooking courtyard. There was a wedding party in but we didn't hear a thing. Stayed for two nights and used the hotel bar and... More

Thank you for your recent review of the King Charles Hotel I am very sorry that you had to wait for your breakfast on Sunday. I think that on this occasion everybody who was attending the Judo event had breakfast at the same time, and this created a short delay. I can assure you that we normally aim to serve... More
