We visited Reads for a birthday meal and opted to have the tasting menu. The whole experience is a taste of luxury, beginning in the lounge where you can enjoy a drink and aperitif whilst you peruse the menu before being lead into the dining room. The tasting menu comprised 9 dishes including appetizers, a main course, cheese board and... More

Reeds suggests top quality as soon as you enter the drive and it does not disappoint. An aperitif in the lounge before an amazing choice of fine food cooked buy the great chefs in the kitchen. The service was very very good too. One of the finest restaurants you could visit and don't discount how popular yet exclusive this is.... More

We stayed here for 3 nights with friends. Super rooms. Great base for visiting Canterbury and N Kent coast. Excellent breakfasts. We ate in the restaurant each night. Lovely food and good service. Not cheapest place we have ever stayed but good value for money.

Had a terrific taster menu meal. Hearty fresh food, wonderful selection, although the chicken liver was a bit strong for me! Fantastic cheese board too. Room was fine with huge bathroom and nice view over patio area. I was left a bit annoyed next morning at breakfast, we sat down and I was asked if I wanted a cooked breakfast... More

I can only start by saying I adore this place. Having returned from another visit I can only say that It never fails to exceed the memory of the first (or subsequent) visit. The rooms are amazing and decadent, and the food is stunning. We started with an aperitif on the terrace Moved into the restaurant for the taster menu... More

We decided on a trip to Kent and a visit to Oare Marsh for our anniversary and to have lunch at Reads something we have been meaning to do for some time. The beautiful old Georgian Manor house was packed with dinners which is always a good sign for what is to come. The whole three course set lunch with... More

The four poster room was well furnished and even had a decanter of sherry in the room. There was a pantry (small kitchen) on the landing for residents to use to make a cup,of tea or take a drink from the honesty bar. Breakfast was excellent. We had the tasting menu for dinner which was also excellent.

Our previous visit to Read's was many years ago at their last premises and a return was long overdue. Maybe the cooking was a bit sharper last time (I remember exactly the food we had and the lovely Pommard we drank) but this was like seeing an old friend after a long absence. The Manor is a splendid old building... More

My husband and I stayed just for one night as we arrived for a birthday party. The room was spectacular! Fabulous room size with a sitting area and ever so comfortable bed. Everything amazingly decorated in English style with a lot of taste. We had a cheese platter as a bite to eat in our room and it was great.... More
