At long last, the inn has been restored and is welcoming guests, both for overnight stays as well as for meals. We love the tavern and bar area. Cozy, woody. One of the best reubens around...Lucky Cat rye bread, corned beef made in house. Friendly wait staff and consistently good food.

Wow! We found this property on Select Registry, spent 3 nights, and developed great relationships with the General Manager and many of the great team members at this beautiful, historic property, Our room was neat, clean, and unique. The restaurants (the Tavern and the Oak Room) are incredible - delicious meals by a great Chef we met during our visit, and the cocktails were great, too! Sat by the fireplace and at the bar, and they also have a wonderful large windowed area overlooking the front lawn. The location is perfect for walking uptown to the local shops, dining, coffee, and candy - it was a great trip! If you're looking for a get-away that is at the same time relaxing and elegant, this is the place! And it's only about a half hour drive from Easton Place for a fun day of shopping at a large outdoor mall area. We are so glad we went, and look forward to going again!

I stayed here for two nights and a getaway. This is a neat old property and reminds me of English Tudor. The check in was fine as there is one person sitting at a desk to do this. I had arrived early and was pleased that my room was available at noon. The only downside was finding a place to park as the main lot had nothing. After calling the hotel, I found out that the building next door has parking. This is fine but it is a jaunt from there with the wind whipping around. My room was on the third floor which apparently used to be an attic. It was nice and cozy though but quite small and there was no desk. They have a little stand near the elevator with a Kuerig and cups for it as well as a "nook" around the corner. This was nice as well. I ate breakfast both days in the Terrace and dinner one night in the Oak Room. The breakfast was OK but the waitress seemed a little aloof. The problem with the Oak Room was that OpenTable.com showed all kinds of times available and I booked 7:00. When I came for my dinner I was informed by the hostess that that was not correct and my reservation was for 7:30. When I cam back she was not at all friendly or apologetic. It is a short walk downtown from here and that is a plus. The Buxton Inn is across the street as well. All in all, I enjoyed the stay.
