Lovely hotel, attentive service. Just what we needed for our long awaited weekend together without the kids. Gorgeous restaurant and fab food. Room was good, massive bed and cozy at the same time. Hope to back one day.

Had lunch in the Brasserie last Sunday. Pre lunch drinks around the fireside in the bar were slickly served and we all ordered the roast beef. When we were ready we were given a table looking out to sea and enjoyed large portions of medium cooked beef with yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and all the rest. As we were hungry...

Just popped in for lunch off the ferry. Spacious with dark wood decor. Had celeriac soup with apple foam! Nice Conservatory overlooking garden and Solent. Receptionist very friendly- allowed me to stow my luggage by her desk while I went through to Conservatory.

The George welcomes all guests wishing to call in for a 'Lite Bite' taken in either our brasserie overlooking the Solent or our snug bar lounge area. New 'Lite Bite' menus are now available for both lunch and early diners. Many thanks for your review and do call any time! Brian Garside General Manager

Wonderful live music from the talented Spike Oatley & a delicious two course hearty supper at a great price (£18), preceded by drinks in front of the log fire. Can't think of a better way to spend a wintry Sunday evening.

Spend the weekend of 5th/6th November at The George with my son and we had a fabulous weekend. Yarmouth really go to town celebrating Bonfire Night - the square was packed with people on Saturday evening where a Samba band entertained us, prior to a torchlit procession up the High Street. We returned to the back garden of The George...

WOW! – Many thanks for your great review which I will convey to the whole team. Our Solent view garden terrace provided a great location for viewing the fireworks on Bonfire Night and listening to our entertainment from the garden bar. Our next firework display will be on New Years Eve after our celebratory Gala Dinner. Just a few rooms...

We've been to the George a few times and it's been a very nice place to visit. Tonight however - 5th Nov - we felt that they let us down, a real disappointment. You see we were celebrating a 40th and decided that because The George was having an evening of hot spiced drinks and food in the garden which...

Dear iamdanielott, We were sorry to learn of your disappointment on Saturday evening. We promoted hot spiced drinks and jacket potatoes with a choice of three fillings (not two as quoted within your review) to be served from our garden bar for visitors and guests wishing to watch the fireworks from our private garden terrace, overlooking The Solent. Bonfire Night...

My wife and I were attracted by an offer at The George Hotel, that we saw on Social Media, offering a 2 course meal at the hotel, with a return trip via the Isle of Wight Ferry as foot passengers, all for a fixed price. I telephoned the hotel and made a reservation. As promised, the tickets arrived from Wight...

Great location, lovely rooms. Accommodating to the dog which was great! Good breakfast overlooking the gardens, very peaceful but did go mid-week. Dinner service in restaurant could have been improved but otherwise would stay again.

The dust is now beginning to settle after our daughter's wedding. Time to reflect on what was a fantastic week-end. It was January when we first started to give thought to wedding plans. We looked at a number of Island venues and, I have to say, The George was not on our initial list. We had almost made our decision...
