We were staying on the campsite opposite and had tea here on Sunday. The menu looked so attractive we were spoiled for choice. In the end hubby had lamb and I had pork loin and they were both delicious! The meals came with veggies on a side plate to share and there was more than enough. We were stuffed until... More

When did this pub so disastrously change hands? Our last visit was 2014, having also visited in 2012 and 2013. Back then, you received a very warm welcome. There was full waiting staff service in the garden provided by very friendly, professional staff. They would pass you a menu you could read from the card, and took your order for... More

My husband and I stopped for lunch on our way to The Needles. Its a nice place, unassuming from the outside. We didn't know what to expect. The menu is chalked onto a blackboard in the bar area. Its a varied menu. They seem to do a lot of fresh seafood. I decided to go for cauliflower cheese and salad... More

My husband and I plus our teenager were able to eat and stay B&B with only 5 minutes notice at 7pm ! All staff were friendly and the eve meal was really excellent food from an impressive and varied menu. We sat by the log fire on a nasty Feb eve and it was bliss. Our bedrooms were both lovely... First thanks to the barman for saving us a table. lovely fish and chips and good portions. Great cosy atmosphere on a windy, sunny last day of 2015. The Isle of Wight needs many more pubs like this. A proper walkers pub in a stunning location.

We visited with friends and had an excellent meal, each course delivered far above our expectations and we would like to congratulate Sue and her team for such an enjoyable meal. We chose venison and lamb for mains, absolutely delicious!

Even though we arrived at the end of their lunch service (around 3pm on a Saturday) they were accommodating to us and a family that arrived even later. With a table by their open fire it was a welcome, cosy spot out of the chilling winter wind. There was a friendly local atmosphere (none of the "we don't like strangers... More

This is a friendly inn in sixties styled wallpaper, and extremely convenient location if you are a fan of Alfred Tennyson and keen to explore surroundings. The staff are hard-working and friendly, and go out of their way to make you feel at home. Our only hitch is we couldn't travel in time, on two occasions due to a bereavement... More

Just got back from a 2 night stay on the Isle of Wight. This place is perfectly located for the needles and a great base to explore the island. A cosy pub downstairs with tasty food and friendly staff. We were two couples so had a double ensuite each. The rooms are clean, cosy, could maybe do with a lick... More
