My partner and I spent our last two nights at the Priory Bay hotel. It is beautiful, tastefully decorated and everything you would expect from a privately owned hotel. Richard and Angie were lovely, so hospitable it was just fantastic. We were in room 5, which boasts beautiful bay windows overlooking the sea and grounds. Breakfast was specially made for... More

After a lovely walk on the priory bay beach with the dog, bright sun and brisk, chilly wind, we drove for afternoon tea at the hotel. Sitting in front of a roaring log fire we were served crustless sandwiches and a beautiful selection of cake. Cucumber and juniper sandwiches were delicious, honey cake was moist and sticky but not too... More

Our daughter chose The Priory Bay for her wedding in December and we hosted a lunch the day after in the hotel and I was absolutely delighted with the whole weekend. The Events Manager, Rachel is excellent and managed to orchestrate a wonderful experience for us all. The food was fantastic and we found the staff helpful and considerate. We... More

I stayed at the Priory bay hotel between Christmas & New Year & it was perfect -just what I was looking for tranquillity , beautiful surroundings, peace & quiet. I was welcomed by the staff & felt immediately relaxed – my room looked so much better than it did on the web site , it was very spacious, comfortable &... More

I took my Mother here for afternoon tea last year and was thoroughly disappointed. The teapot was not clean, We had to ask for knives to cut our sandwiches and forks for the cakes. The Victoria sponge was very dry and the scones etc were not much better so I was not looking forward to my partners works Christmas Party... More

Spent three nights her in November. Were there for a celebration dinner. Firstly was very impressed with the seven course taster menu which was served with different wines with each course. This was served very expertly and with much fun by the very capable staff. As for the room we had, it was on the top floor and after climbing... More

A hotel with history and character but also comfort and beautiful furnishings. Our room was spacious and airy -5 windows!- and a very comfortable bed and good en suite. We chose half board and the meals were of a high standard and delicious. Everyone was friendly and attentive - nothing was too much trouble. The grounds are extensive with golf,... More

Sadly let down by unprofessional staff, this charming if shabby hotel could really be a great hotel but is way off the mark. Having spent a long time choosing two of the largest 'superior rooms' on the first floor for a celebratory four day break with my 88 year old grandmother, there was a litany of exasperating staff mistakes due... Quite disappointed with our stay at the Priory. Expected it to be excellent considering its local reputation and the price tag. The room we had was extremely tired and tatty - old badly hung curtains, peeling paint, no shower and it featured an old fire escape with an illuminous light that lit up the room. Not worth £130pn! The food... More

We were at the Priory Bay for a wedding - which itself was absolutely wonderful - I am not sure how much was the family and how much was the hotel, but it was a really fantastic event. The food is outstanding, the staff helpful, and the number of "looks" each room can give is also really great! The Hotel... More
