There are are many reviews saying how tired this hotel is, but it is really only the stairs and communal areas. Our room was lovely and roomy with a four poster bed, huge bathroom and views over the Solent. The breakfast choice was good and we didn't have to wait long for it. The staff were friendy. Social distancing in place. The car park can be tricky to find. Park nearby and book in to get the map, it's over the road behind shops but there are lots of one way roads in Ryde. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at Yelf’s while we walked the entire Isle of Wight coastal path. They were very kind and allowed us to park our car in their car park for the 4 days we were walking around the island. The hotel itself is a little tired and dated but the staff are friendly. The sea view from our room was amazing. The breakfast was good and plentiful. The location is also good - very close to the coastal path for walkers and close to bars and restaurants.

The hotel is a bit tired but the staff more than make up for this shortfall. Would like to mention in particular three members of staff, Lee, Ellie and Claudia who served us at breakfast and gave us a great start to the day with excellent service and a good sense of humour, which we feel is important especially in these times.

I booked one night for a groom the night before his wedding. He was checked into a room that had not been cleaned at all. They then moved him to the worst room for noise. Other family stayed and found an empty bottle of vodka under the bed To top it all off they have cjarged his card £240 for a £60 one night stay Stay clear do not book

Well placed for the ferry but the hotel is dated and lacks atmosphere. Our room overlooked the main road in the annex and was very noisey. We had an evening meal in the restaurant and the food was very nice but breakfast was awful. No porridge, no fruit or fruit salad and we waited 30 minutes for toast and anotehr 30 minutes for coffee. The staff seemed to be overworked and disorganised, although they tried to be helpful
