Wouldn't recommend. Waited 30mins for a bacon sandwich... When it came there was the spout / pointed end of a milk carton in my sandwich! The poor bargirl was rushed off her feet with no help from anyone else. Lovely place but poorly run. Would not recommend.

We found ourselves at a lose end and decided to have a spot of lunch st a pub we’ve been to many times The Fishbourne Inn. What a shame. The inexperience in the staff and Management really stood out today. Walked in at 1pm. Ordered food at 1:10pm. We waited and waited. The table next to us had their starters, then their main meal and by this time it was 1:50. I asked one of the staff. Any news? Soon she said. At 2pm my wife stood at the bar waiting to ask where our food was, the same girl approached the bar and did a 180 degree almost a hand brake turn an scuttled off. We were then told 5min. 10min later the food arrived. Unsurprisingly the food was good, it always is. By this time our son had had enough and left most of his dinner as he’d gone past it as his autism takes over and when he wants to go, he wants to go. I went to pay. The, I can only presume the Manager, said “I’ve knocked 10% off for your wait”. I didn’t ask, it wasn’t offered it was just given. No apology...! When I explained our frustration he started to defend his staff and say they had had a rush, the place was 20% full. This lunchtime felt like my Brexit. A painfully drawn out process that could and should have been a really simple process. Today a bit off courtesy to let us know they we’re running late and a bit of humility in resolving the issue would have been far more appreciated than 10% off....!

Looking at some of the negative reviews, I cannot think I went to the same place! We booked in advance for a Thursday, thank goodness as it was very busy. They kindly set up a table in the bar/lounge area as my sister wanted to bring her elderly dog with us. Staff and service, absolutely friendly and great. Menus choice was so much better than the usual generic pub fare, some of the options you could choose smaller portions, we all chose something different and all really enjoyed it. It's in a wonderful location, we had coffee on the terrace on the previous Saturday in the sunshine. Go and see for yourself, I think you will be glad you did

Terrible customer service but fantastic food. Being ignored at the bar by two members of team , not even saying be with you in a minute or eye contact , not honoring vouchers that had been advertised in the county press. Also not replying to an e-mail i sent on 11 April with the disappointment i had in the restaurant, giving the management an opportunity to reply. Shame as this is the start of the busy season and can the isle of wight have negative feedback for customer service
