A four day break with friends. The weather was kind which helped. The hotel is welcoming with friendly, efficient staff and food of a very high quality. It did the trick.the bedroom was a bit “tired”, but the bathroom was epic and span. The hotel is ideally located from the Southampton ferry and an easy drive to most places.

First impressions were how warm and cosy it was compared to the awful weather outside and the lovely welcoming smile of the receptionist. It’s a lovely homely place with a gorgeous large terrace and garden. The restaurant itself could do with a refurbishment but we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the freshly cooked breakfast the following morning. Staff were lovely, gallons of hot water, deep bath, good shower, cosy lounge - nothing not to like.

Lovely hotel in a very convenient spot for visiting Osborn House. Very clean and dog friendly although the dog charges are high and nothing is supplied. Normally we would expect bowls, treats or a bed - £20 a night seems high. Good food and charming, helpful staff. Food was good and we ate in the bar with our dog. Since taking over the owner has been restoring the period feel of the house. The sitting room is very stylish.

We booked a table for a special occasion at the Albert cottage restaurant. (We weren’t staying at the hotel but were on holiday on the island). Our meal was first class! Fabulous starters and mains and wonderful presentation. A talented chef and brilliant head waiter; the latter very attentive and friendly- helping us with our meal choice and planning our itinerary for the next day. If you want fine dining this is definitely the place to come. Thank you!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ideally situated for exploring Osborne House and Gardens, the Albert Cottage Hotel has a bygone charm evoking a stay at a country house. Friendly staff, comfy bed and a great breakfast with fruit platter and yogurt, boxed cereals, toast, fresh fruit, juices, potted yogurt and a choice of cooked breakfast including vegetarian. Dinner is available by booking in advance The hotel is near bus stops, but if you're staying for more than one night your own transport is a must because taxis in East Cowes aren't usually available after 18.00/6pm unless pre-booked. The hotel clearly does a roaring trade in celebrations and events but for us the dresser in the window was an irritation that blocked the garden view. No doubt many guests find it romantic... The diddy side table barely held the hot drinks tray and kettle. Also the room key is fiddly. Overall the hotel is charming and comfortable. Do be advised that a lot of attractions in the Isle of Wight are seasonal from Easter to end of October. Would stay again, but with a car next time

Fantastic menu and service - We knew it was going to be good when we saw the focused menu and we weren't disappointed. Best ever Arancini (with some lovely spicy sauce), sublime main courses (steak and potato dauphanoise for me and red lentil dhal for Mich) and all finished off with Apple Tart Tatin that had hints of toffee apple flavour and texture. Very highly recommended if visiting the Isle of Wight.

Historic hotel, about 10 mins walk from Osborne House. We were on a Travelzoo deal which was great value. We stated in the Alice room number 10 which was very spacious and tastefully decorated.and contained a large bed, sofa, large TV, desk and coffee table. Separate toilet and huge bathroom with excellent walk- in shower and double sinks. There was a covered courtyard which we did not use as the roof was leaking and noisy when it was windy and raining. However, we understand that the roof is soon to be replaced and it did not detract from our stay. Everywhere was very clean and all staff very helpful, polite and friendly. Bar prices reasonable. Lots of parking and gorgeous gardens. The evening meal in the restaurant and daily breakfast were excellent and hats off must go to the head chef. WiFi not great but we found it hard to get a decent signal on the Island in general so may be a general problem. A wonderful stay and experience.

Hands down the best afternoon tea on the island. Freshly made sandwiches and cakes. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff . Happily accommodated our requests for the younger members of our party. Can't wait to bring other members of our family.

My good friend and I treated ourselves to this chocolate afternoon tea - because we're worth it! The 3-tier cake stand was well presented and the dainty sandwiches were tasty, with several different fillings. The choclate plate was divine. However, the scones were dire! Really dry and stale. We each tried to eat one, mine covered in chocolate spread and my friend's covered in jam and cream, but still awful. We did complain to our waitress, who was very apologetic and brought 'fresh' ones out. However, these were also dry and inedible. Very disappointing. We had to leave most of the chocolate spread, jam and cream as we had nothing to put it on! Not what we've come to expect from Albert Cottage and not what we paid for.

Food hugely disappointing and lack of interest from staff noticeable. Overall experience was very disappointing and would not visit again. Correspondence has not been dealt with and issues complained about have not been addressed. Very unprofessional leadership.
