Having traveled around the world twice, we have stayed in many hotels and B&Bs. The Leconfield Country House is the perfect size, for that personal touch. It's the perfect location to explore the island and the breakfast is everything you could wish for. Just order what you want and it is freshly cooked for you. Paul looked after us very well and nothing was ever too much trouble. On arrival, Paul assisted with our cases and quickly returned with tea and cakes. And unlike many other places we've stayed, if you run out of tea, milk & coffee in your room, you simply top up from a help-yourself supply in the corridor. Considering our booking included the return ferry crossing from Lymington to Yarmouth, there's not doubt we will stay here again. The 5 Star rating from the AA for Accommodation and Breakfast is well deserved.

As in the title, absolutely perfect, not a single complaint! On arrival I'd been walking along the beach and fell knee deep into mud and ruined my jeans. Cheryl told me it wasn't a problem, and her husband Paul took them later and washed them for me! As we were the only couple staying that week they upgraded our room (I wanted to book that room but booking.com only offered me one option). The room, The Admiral, was amazing. Huge rooftop terrace with enormous french windows, the bed was lovely and comfortable, decor was very nice, bathroom was modern and immaculately clean and the dressing room was a very nice size and complete with a freestanding bath in the middle. This was on top of the shower and two sinks in the bathroom! Breakfast was cooked to order with an ample selection of fruits, nuts, yoghurt, cereal and juices to boot. The entire hotel was very clean, very welcoming and very nicely decorated. On Valentine's night a bottle of Prosecco, ice bucket and glasses were left in our room which was a very thoughtful touch. The location of the hotel was perfect for our stay, IOW is not a huge place but it was in very easy reach of Shanklin, Blaclgang Chine, Godshill and Sandown. Ventnor is a beautiful little town and has some beautiful little shops and restaurants, namely the Bistro which we would highly recommend as would Paul and Cheryl. Paul and Cheryl were excellent hosts and me and my fiancee couldn't have enjoyed our stay more! We will definitely be back!

My wife and I stayed here for a week and cannot speak highly enough of The Leconfield. On arrival we were met by Paul, who insisted on carrying our two (very heavy) suitcases to the room, and who then provided us with complimentary tea and cakes. We were in The Dolphin room, with sea views and with patio doors directly into the garden and the pool area. The room was very spacious and comfortable, and was serviced every day whilst we ate breakfast, eliminating any possible inconvenience to us. Breakfast was served in the dining room with views out over the English Channel, and offered a wonderfully wide range of options. Paul and all the staff were constantly attentive to any needs we may have, and Paul explained that if we wished to bring in a takeaway any evening a table could be set up in the dining room for our use. There was also a comfortable lounge area for guests' use, and an "honesty" bar for drinks if required. We genuinely felt that nothing was too much trouble - a real home from home.

Once again we were welcomed by Paul for our 5th visit to the Leconfield. As always we enjoyed the most friendly greeting and a catch up over a pot of tea and homemade cake. Rooms on this occasion were changed to the Boardwalk as it meant our 92year old mother could be in the same suite and enjoy a room with a sea -view. This was the perfect room which we hope to have again for our stay next year. Towels, other bathroom accessories and drinks making items were replenished on a daily basis. The hotel is spotlessly clean. Breakfasts could never be faulted, the choice is endless and the cooked option is always extremely hot and freshly prepared. There is ample parking space. All members of the team are courteous, thoughtful and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. Paul and Cheryl go out of their way to ensure a most memorable and relaxing time is had by all. If you are looking to stay in Ventnor this is the perfect Hotel with remarkable sea views. Highly recommended.

When places to stay are as good as this i don’t want to just leave a list of positive adjectives I can’t see what that adds to the reader. Here you have a long list of 5 star reviews packed with praise. I agree with every word said. I would prefer to scan back to negative reviews of which there are hardly any. The odd 4 star which I understand, is anywhere actually perfect? But Kimmystarz 7.9.18 1 star gave me a good laugh. Rude owners! Seriously, Paul and Cheryl could not be nicer, more friendly more helpful owners. Breakfast well what nonsense. Buffets are the sort of thing you get in cheap high turn over hotels like Premier Inn. Menu served breakfast is what you get in quality establishments. Here they have a buffet for cereals fruit etc then a very extensive menu including smoked salmon and black pudding! Toast flows continuously without question. Helpings are a perfectly good size but if you want, or need more then you do just have to ask. I agree if you want to pack your bags with enough extra food for snack and lunch you might have a problem but hotels are not there to save you lunch money. As for checking out well honestly if there is a check out time, as in very hotel on the planet, then the idea is that you check out at by that time not just take your time and go when to fancy. Walking in and out of a room, well I can’t say that never happens but I find it difficult to believe. We had 4 rooms for three nights and didn’t experience this. So highly recommend, will return.

Thank you so much for your recent stay and for taking the time to write a review. Particularly your review of a review!! We are proud of our small team and in the people/service industry there has to be an occasion when what is offered is not quite the expectations to all. All we can do is do our best and to be approachable without being intrusive. Most importantly, we are really pleased you and your party enjoyed your stay and hopefully will return in the future. Thank you again from all the team at The Leconfield
