We were walking Offa's Dyke and stayed here for one of the nights. We were greeted by the owner who showed us to our room and then offered us tea. When we went down there was tea and fruit cake, which was great. The owner joined us and discussed the best places to eat and drink locally. We went with... More

Excellent B and B with a couple fully versed in the pleasures of the district, which itself is stunning. Bikes are for hire and Geoff knows a number of great routes. Food first class, rooms spotless and quiet.

Based on the previous reviews we decided to go for the Southborne B&B in looking for an overnight in Kington. We as well experienced the excellent hospitality of Geoff and Patsy ! What a welcome, what a breakfast. On top of that, in the morning, Geoff offered us a small drive to a better start of the path. We will... More

We were walking Offa's Dyke and The Southbourne provided a good stopover en route. It is a 10 minute walk to the town centre but having wandered around the main roads of Kington for an hour I wouldn't spend much time there again! The rooms were clean and quite well-appointed, there was a very welcome pot of tea and cake... More

I stayed here on Offas Dyke path for which it is very convenient. Patsy was very kind and tea and cake on arrival was very much appreciated. It is about a 10 minute walk into town for dinner and Patsy gave me a map to show the way and recommended a good place to eat (Royal Oak, massive portions). Packed... More

THis was a great place, warm welcome, elegant, spotlessly clean and interestingly decorated, yet not stiff and formal. Geoff and Patsy, very kind hosts, put us up at short notice, and we enjoyed our time there, and their practical advice, very much indeed. We'd recommend it to anyone - especially if you don't mind a few minutes walk from the... More

Very impressed by this establishment. It reminded me a little of a police or military operational planning room (don't ask!!). The owners are dedicated outdoor adventurers and it shows in every way. That night they were heavily involved in organising and accommodating for a Kington walking festival and the atmosphere was buzzing with house full and so much going on... More

Geoff and Patsy once again provided a warm welcome, fantastic breakfast and outstanding local knowledge - this time even more pertinent as Geoff was the leader for a number of walks in the annual Kington Walking Festival. You just cannot beat the combination of home cooked, local (and often home grown) food, comfortable rooms and the chance to get away... More

Not bad - clean, pleasant room, but no ensuite. No TV in room, but there's a shared lounge downstairs. The B&B is a little way outside of the town itself. Helpful hosts. They had insisted on a deposit on booking (most B&Bs don't do this) - then they forgot about it when it came to paying and I only remembered... More

Unfortunately this reviewer has failed to respond to us as we feel they have confused us with another B&B. As is clear on our website we request a deposit, as do other B&B's, because on occasion people fail to turn up. We have not had a situation where the deposit has not been taken into account when settling the final... More

Geoff and Patsy were brilliant hosts, producing a sincere welcome, excellent homemade food and outstanding local knowledge. In our travels cycling and walking we have stayed at many similar establishments but this is definitely one of the very best and we would thoroughly recommend the establishment. A beautiful, tranquil setting but with easy access to the excellent local eating houses.... More
