Pleasant stay at Oxford Arms. Very friendly landlord Fred (always seems to be on hand). The room did need a refurb - but it was spotless and the bed was really comfy with nice quality bed linen. We had food in the restaurant and that was excellent all in all a lovely stay at a quirky shabby chic pub. Kington... More

Visited here during the weekend while racing in Herefordshire. What a cracking little place. Great staff, homely feel. I'll definitely remember the place for next time. Very reasonable too. Great food and drink available. No negative comments really.

Eight of us walked Hergest Ridge from Kington and then had Saturday lunch at the Oxford Arms. The staff were friendly and welcoming and very kind to our black Labrador, even giving her a complimentary dog biscuit. The food was fantastic. I had the fish pie with fresh seasonal vegetables followed by proper sticky toffee pudding (made with dates) and... More

I would like everyone to know how very well received I was along with my people on my visit to the Oxford Arms. We went 'on chance' for Sunday lunch, and were shown to our seats without any fuss, that is to say with no problem, I was made a fuss of, being cute and all that.... We had a... More

Arrived in Kington on one of the worst weather days feeling unwell and was very happy to find hot water bottles, hot chocolate and a comfortable bed to rest in. Our room was huge (enough cupboard space to fit more than my entire wardrobe!) and bathroom. Later had decent ale in the bar and a fabulous home made meat pie... More

First impressions are of an old fashion pub - old with lots of dark wood and in need of decoration but full of character. No sooner had we walked in the door when we were made so welcome that we soon forgot the décor. We were shown to a large newly decorated room with creaky floors to go with the... More

Due to a recent review of the Oxford arms, Kington I was a little reluctant to stay the night, however, as I had already paid for the room in full for my husband and myself , and I try to make a point of judging things for myself before rushing to conclusions, we decided to go regardless. I am now... More

Fred made us very welcome. The pub was very old but quirky. The food was very good with an excellent choice on the menu. Room was clean and although we looked out on to the main road was very quiet. The area was good for visiting places of interest and lots of history around that area. Will definitely go back.
