This review seems to fly in the face of others recently left, but our experience was positive. We did not eat there, so this is a room only assessment. The room was clean and well appointed, staff were friendly and helpful; it was no problem for them to change us to a non-smoking room, after we had been initially assigned... More

Having booked (and paid for) the room in April this year, I assumed our visit at the beginning of this month, August, would be fairly 'bomb proof'. Oh dear, after setting off for Hemel we were informed that due to a burst pipe (in August?) our room was not available for the first night of our stay so they had... More

This place is horrendous. Staff who couldn't care less and rooms that look as though they have been trashed on a number of occasions. Our bathroom was filthy with stains on the cheap sink, bath and toilet. Towels had been used for years and were thin and threadbare. The carpet was filthy and hadn't been cleaned properly for months, or... More

We booked a coach trip to Lego land with travel style and the watermill hotel is the hotel they chose for our nights stay. On arrival we were told the rooms had been double booked so half of the families on our coach had to travel to another hotel. After an hour of messing around me and my family were... More

Came here with a group for Afternoon tea, food was plentiful and nice, it was nice sitting outside we had a view over the river, shame you can't actually see the canal as there are tree's in the way, the staff were friendly, but no one came to see if we needed tea top ups or if we were ok,... I don't like giving negative feedback, but having stayed at this hotel several times it is FUNDAMENTALLY flawed. The straw that broke the camels back was when I showed up after a long day at work (as usual) and was told there had been an issue and there was no room for me. Even though I had booked and received... More

Firstly let me say we went to a friend's wedding here and had a fabulous day that was in spite of the hotel and not because of. The grounds are truly beautiful, with spectacular water views. There seems to be loads of parking, and the hotel and rooms are generally clean if looking a little shabby. The breakfast is adequate,... More

We visited as part of a wedding party. When phoning to book a room we were told they had none, we booked a room though booking.com. The ran out of prosecco, they ran out of lager in the marquee... Then the night manager confronted my other half and was told he had to go to his room or they would... More
