I booked this hotel at the last minute as I was attending an evening event at the National Motor Museum. I checked in after lunch and the nice receptionist said he had my booking and went off to organise a room for me as it was fully booked. I was given room 31 in the main house. The room was...

The wifi in residents lounge, bar and bedroom was intermittent and when it did occasionally work was dreadfully slow making it useless. The residents lounge was so cold at 4pm I needed my coat. The bedroom was on the small side. On the plus side, the girl in reception was very pleasant.

We have just returned from a two night stay at The Master Builder's House Hotel and had a wonderful time. The food in the Riverside Restaurant was excellent and could not be faulted; the presentation was superb; and the decor and ambience of the restaurant and the resident's lounge was extremely comfortable. The staff throughout the hotel were very attentive...

I stayed at this hotel as part of my birthday celebration last weekend. It is in such a fabulous location and steeped in history and within the Buckler’s Hard museum. The rooms were cosy and had everything you need in them. The hotel staff and waiters and waitresses were all very friendly and it made the hotel have a lovely...

We were married at the Master Builder's House Hotel last weekend in the Riverview Restaurant. The entire weekend was fantastic and the standard of care second to none. From the pre-wedding planning with Hannah, to the support and attention to detail throughout the ceremony and reception that was provided by Jose. The food and the service were impeccable and the...

Our stay from start to finish was absolutely wonderful. Arrived later but they were happy to accommodate us for dinner as it was before dinner service finished (which is 9pm). We stayed in the Agamemnon room which was decorated in subtle and inviting olive greys and full of beautiful furnishings and extras like white company toiletries, coffee machine, biscuits, tea...

The outlook over the garden and the river is delightful with access to riverside walk. The buildings are older and slightly on the scruffy side, though clean. Rooms in the Henry Adams wing were dark and old. Pets are permitted in this wing. Breakfast was ample, pub lunch better than average (the downstairs section being better than the cozy, dark,...

Booked 2 nights from Australia and found hotel to be over-rated, especially when it advertises itself as "quirky luxury". Found receptionist on duty to be very unwelcoming, could not even muster a smile. We were told our room was in the Henry Adams Wing - a brick built characterless building. Our room had one window which overlooked the car park...

Bedrooms well designed and comfy we were in room 9/10. Comfy bed great shower. The only negative was my fish for breakfast was really small and breakfast took a long time to arrive,...

I had to spend a night in the area and I chose The Master Builder's Hotel because of the beautiful location by the river. My room had been recently renovated and it was beautifully decorated.
