Booked this for a night stop to visit relatives. The shame is that, with a little care and updating, this could actually be a really great place. However, the reality is somewhat different. The receptionist and restaurant staff were absolutely lovely. It was the room that let it down. Nice location, overlooking the garden, but there is a very narrow... More

We had visited this hotel/restaurant previously and could find no fault, so much so we were really looking forward to eating there tonight. How wrong can you be. The candle on the table poured wax all over the table and the waitress had no idea how to clean the table. Our starters were very good apart from the honey &... More

This hotel offers a carvery on Sundaýs from 12 til 4pm. We booked a table for four at 2pm today. After buying a drink at the bar while waiting fir the rest of the group we mentioned we had a table booked only to be told they had run out of meat so there wasn't a carvery now available! We... More

I staid at the St. Leonards 4 nights a week during a period of three months now and it has been very good. The staff is very friendly and helpful, they got to know me and that is also how I'm treated, very well. I can only recommend staying in this hotel. The location is very convenient next to A31.... Let's start with the positives. Convenient location right next to A31 and despite this quiet. Oh and breakfast was great. Arrived at 19.30 and then waited 20 mins to check in, I guess short staffed, but when he arrived he was very friendly and welcoming. Main light in room wasn't working, thank goodness for the iPhone torch! Very dated and... More

We stayed in rooms 101 and 104, both on the ground floor overlooking the grounds and at the back of the hotel. Both rooms had French doors, huge beds and large bathrooms. The rooms look very pleasant when first entering but closer inspection shows they are in need of a little tlc. The paintwork is scuffed and chipped and the... More

Went here on a Sunday for the carvery. £8.99 for a Choice of really rare beef, four bird roast or a lonely dry pork chop left and it was only 1.30pm. The sides were all lovely though, especially the dauphinois potatoes. Service was very quick. We decided to treat ourselves to a dessert and both had the chocolate flower pot... More

Came here for lunch , hadn't been in for a while, the manager Louise was on duty and was as welcoming and engaging as ever. The bar and restaurant has been painted, with new carpets but the toilets and corridors are still tired, maybe they are doing it up in stages?

Last Christmas (2014) we had Christmas day lunch at the St Leonard's Hotel and it was one of the best Christmas lunches ever. With that in mind we booked again for this Christmas (2015) and encouraged 2 friends to come with us. The word 'disappointing' does not begin to describe our experience. It was appalling! 1. On arrival there was... More
