Stayed on business and was very pleasantly surprised. A lot of times when staying in an inn the bedrooms can be a bit of a let down. NOT in his case. Very well presented room in a quintessential way. Absolutely bags of character and country heritage. My room came with a nice en-suite shower room and the usual toiletries were... More

I recently took my mum away for a mid week rest at the peat spade inn. What a gloriious place to stay. The twin room was beautiful decorated and furnished to a very high standard and are spotlessly clean. the rooms are set back in their own little area with your own front door completely private and completely silent. The... More

Whilst my husband was on a fishing day, I spent a lovely day exploring the local villages with our dog, and came across Longstock. I sat in the very nice garden and had a lovely lunch of crab and avocado on toast followed by a delicious chocolate pudding. It's a little expensive and the portions aren't huge, but it was... More

No beef, no pork, no chicken. Very poor planning meant half the menu wasn't available for lunch service. But poor communication meant we weren't told until after ordering. Alegedly it would be ok again by evening. At least they offered the mains for free.

Thank you Nikki (& Kevin), who ever is the owner of this pub you want to make sure Nikki stays, probably not paid enough. I'm annoyed that it took me 6 months to find this place. This is the quintessential village pub so very absent from the more financially motivated Stockbridge area. The bar is great. The food fulsome and fantastic fare. The bar staff are friendly, welcoming and cheerful. My in-laws stayed here for Christmas. The pub was overwhelmingly welcoming and accommodating. We... More

From the website this hotel looks lovely. Reviews appeared to be good especially round service and food unfortunatley I didn't experience the same. After a 4-5 hr drive to hotel, following a day at work, my arrival was just before 10pm I was checked in. I asked about any food and they said the kitchens were closed I asked about... More

Friendly staff, warm welcome, and great food. Only our third visit, but I can see we will keep coming back - it is that good. Nice ambience and a pleasant outside area for warm evenings. Only snag would be that the car park is always full -

The resturant served us excellent food and wine and we slept very well in a cosy room. Very dog friendly. A must for Fishers, the walks locally must have some of the best fishing in the country. A great place to stay and explore. Brilliant.

at the last minute we decided to have Sunday Lunch at the Peat Spade , glad we phoned ahead as it appeared a few others had the same idea. Food is great at the Peat Spade but what sets it apart is the friendly and welcoming service from the young and cheerful staff. This is a proper gastro pub that... More
