A couple of weeks ago I booked to stay at this B&B for a long weekend at Middle Wallop airfield. I had previously stayed at this property some four years ago. The owner Fiona Bradbury made me very welcome once again. My room was comfortable and spotlessly clean and had all the facilities advertised. Breakfast is now a cold, serve yourself affair but with plenty of choice. In my case Fiona was happy to make me a couple of boiled eggs so that I could have my usual breakfast (thanks Fiona).
As to the location, it is in the beautiful hamlet of Nether Wallop, what more do I need to say!
Would I stay at York Lodge again? Yes Please!
Thank Brian S

Very comfortable rooms, friendly welcome from Fiona, easy parking are just a few of the good things about York Lodge.
Comfortable bed, decent shower, lovely breakfast and superb view of the garden whilst eating it. Having grown up in Nether Wallop I have a great affection for the place. The thatched cottages are very pretty and the whole place is peaceful.
The Saxon church is well cared for and has the fantastic original wall paintings for everyone to see.

Thanks, June, for your welcome comments. I see you have taken some lovely photos of the Nether Wallop, but one of them shows a house under scaffolding which I hope people won't think is mine! It was great seeing you and hope it won't be long before we meet again. Best wishes to you and Brian. Fiona

I visited York Lodge while working at the nearby Thruxton race circuit in summer 2018. This little place is a wonderful hidden gem, tucked away down narrow lanes in a beautiful little village. Host Fiona could not have been more friendly and welcoming, going out of her way to make sure my stay was as perfect as possible.

My room was clean and perfectly furnished, wih towels and bathroom items provided, and an ample supply of tea and coffee and biscuits. There is no noise or light pollution at all in this location and it really is perfect for a good night's sleep. The resourceful Fiona also provided details and addresses of local pubs and eateries, as well as various guides to the local area. Breakfast was excellent too with a large variety of items available and all clearly freshly prepared.

I am working at Thruxton again later this year and will be staying here again - the second of what will hopefully be many visits.
