We had a lovely couple of days stay at York lodge, and both my husband and I and our dog were made very welcome by Fiona. The room we had was very clean and spacious, with a huge bed, lovely crisp white sheets and duvet! Lovely breakfast too! Thank you.

Superb bed and breakfast facilities. The accommodation is spotlessly clean and spacious. Brilliant breakfast menu to suit all requirements. Most importantly guests receive a very warm welcome. Lots of information is available about the local area which is a delight to explore.

The cooked breakfasts were lovely. Both rooms are beautifully furnished and comfortable. We will definitely stay again if we are visiting this part of the... More

Fiona welcomed us warmly and there was everything we could have wanted. The surroundings and walks are beautiful. A real hidden gem! The food was lovely too. For us it was homely and very comfortable and easy to relax. Fiona was informative about the local area and showed us around her beautiful garden. It was a delight to watch the... More

Stayed here for a one night stay, The village left me wanting more, there are few places in the UK you can wander into a Saxon Church after service and receive a pleasant introduction. A charming location. York lodge is ideal for walkers, fishermen and anyone wanting to experience a genuine English Village. The beds were very comfy, the place... More

Having arranged with Fiona to arrive quite late in evening, we received a warm and friendly welcome, and we were made feel at home with tea in our own dining room. The bedrooms were comfortable and had everything we needed. Fiona cooked us a delicious breakfast and had time to chat. Enjoyed the peace and tranquillity, would have liked to... More

If you want a lovely homely atmosphere with great English reception and yummy breakfast come here! Set very close to the lovely town of Stockbridge, I was meant to base myself here for a half marathon nearby. My lack of organisation meant that this reason became void, but the quintessential English countryside and delicious restaurants of Stockbrige, trout watching and... More
