From the minute I arrived at Champneys Forest Mere the service was brilliant. I was greeted and checked in by Claudine who was absolutely amazing her customer service and commitment was second to none. Claudine also supported me throughout my stay as she knew I was a solo traveller and a little anxious. Jane the Manager was also brilliant and supportive arranging for me to be upgraded again to Room 111 as she knew this would make my stay more relaxing returning to the room I knew. Jane also supported me with my treatments. I was checked out by Claudine who again couldn’t do enough for me advising me of all the offers available for my return. I would honestly never stay anywhere else for my well-being spa break as the therapists are also so helpful when having treatments. I cannot praise the staff enough

Had a great time as usual. Fitness staff were great especially Charly. Loved the hikes and Aquafit. Shame Champneys have decided to start charging for classes though. Not a good decision Wish they’d bring back the evening talks and complimentary teas and coffee after dinner as not much to do in the evenings now other than go to our rooms

Boxercise class with Charly at Forest Mere was a fun high intensity work out! Charly gave clear highly motivating instruction especially as it was our first time doing Boxercise. We also did her Pilates class using a foam roller which added a new challenge to all the moves. Overall stay at Forest Mere was relaxing using all different spa facilities Highlights outside jacuzzi and tropical rain shower. A shame the outside pool is closed in winter. Also ideally more staff need for checking in at peak times.

We spent two nights at Forest Mere and had a great time. The spa is situated in beautiful grounds and the whole site is well worth exploring. We’d particularly recommend the walking routes, which give a great tour of the grounds in good weather (bring wellies!) The staff at the spa were a real highlight. Very friendly, helpful and accommodating; no request was too much (and special thanks to Alice and co for their help in trying to book us a cab on a Sunday afternoon!) The rooms are clean and comfortable and the spa is well equipped, with pools, saunas and steam room all working well. There is plenty of space and even on a crowded Saturday, there was no shortage of places to sit and rarely a queue for anything. We loved the outdoor jacuzzi! The gym also seems to have been recently refurbished with brand new life fitness equipment. The restaurant food is straightforward (perhaps not destination dining) but generally well done, and very well suited after a day of swimming or gym classes. My partner had two treatments - an expert facial and a deep tissue massage - and thought both were excellent, with very good, very friendly therapists. The only reason not to give this five stars is the value for money. We booked through secretescapes, giving us a real discount, but this was still an expensive two nights. On top of that, none of the treatments or classes are included within the price, nor are the lunches, the cooked breakfast options, or the drinks. Even some of the dinner options require a (not insignificant) supplement.! So this is a great time but be warned - quite a lot more expensive than the price on the tin!

Gifted a spa evening by my daughter Emily, premier therapist at Champneys Forest Mere, had a lovely evening - used all the poolside facilities, enjoyed the Christmas Market with great priced gift sets, (mulled wine and hot dogs outside 😋 ) reflexology by visually impaired therapist Frank was superb, and a delicious healthy 3 course meal - the perfect birthday treat.

Champneys as a resort is a lovely place to stay, it is a bit dated in places and the service is not the best, There didn't seem to be many staff on hand and when you did order it was slow. The treatments are over priced for what they are and when you do have a treatment they try to do add ons at extra cost. My daughter booked a treatment and got the time wrong which they refused to reschedule, give a credit note or refund which I thought was really unacceptable. The room we had was nice but on check out we had numerous items on our bill which were not related to us which left a very sour taste on departure when spending an hour to sort this out. We also had lunch on our day of departure, our departure time was 4pm but they omitted to tell us that there would be a charge for this. Having been going to Champneys Forest Mere for over 20 years I feel the service and standards have gone hugely downhill, it is not value for money and very overpriced, the staff are quite rude at times and I would not recommend it.

Such a nice stay at Forest Mere, loved the spa facilities and the treatment that I had was great. Food was really nice too and they had a great selection, and a special mention to Marius in the restaurant who was excellent.

I decided to treat my daughter to an overnight stay at Forest Mere for an early 21st Birthday treat and so glad I did! It was perfect from start to finish. We had booked an early check in but our room wasn’t quite ready so we were given our robes so we could start our spa experience straight away. After this we went off to have lunch in the restaurant which was a 3 course menu…thankfully not too overfilling but very delicious and healthy. I had booked a full body massage for myself and a Champneys facial for my daughter, both of which were excellent and much needed! We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing in our dressing gowns making full use of the amazing facilities. Then back to our room to get ready for dinner. It is a very different feel in the evening in the restaurant, so chilled and the food again was top notch. Marius, the restaurant manager was very attentive and made my daughter feel very special for her birthday which was very much appreciated. I had the best nights sleep (which is not always the case at home) the bed and pillows were so comfortable. The next day we had our buffet breakfast…again in our robes which takes a bit of getting used to, and again it was great. There is everything you would want for breakfast with the option of a cooked breakfast for an extra charge. We didn’t feel the need to pay extra as we were more than happy with the options included but I guess if you are staying for a few nights then this is a good idea. After more relaxing we thought it was time to do a bit of exercise so off we went to the gym. I’m not a big gym person but my daughter is and she found the equipment excellent. I stuck to the running machine but I didn’t bring my earphones which was a shame as the screen had multiple apps to keep you occupied whilst clocking up the miles! After a bit more relaxing it was sadly time to leave, check out was quick and easy and the manager Raili was on hand to make sure we’d had a good time. We most certainly had and we will hopefully return soon….Thank you Champneys! Read less

The hotel in general is dated, every time I visit a spa facility isn’t working. They’ve changed the overnight package and annoyingly lunch is no longer included and there seems to be a surcharge for almost everything. The gym class I attended however was fantastic and one of the highlights of the trip - stretch and flow with Jack :)
