The hotel rooms are on the pricey and expensive side but are well worth the cost for comfort and refinement. The hotel has a full bar that opens at midday and a restuarant that serves lunch meal deals for under five pounds.

A group of us went, some had rooms which needed serious work, and none of us enjoyed the smell in the corridors. Our room was very large, clean, quiet and with a vast panoramic window. The staff were attentive and friendly, and the breakfast choice was five star, with the chef asking us exactly what we wanted and delivered as... More

I am pleasantly surprised as read some reviews that made it out to be awful! Granted , they need to renovate , however staff are lovely, food so far brilliant, clean and fresh linen. All in all good value. Would definitely stay again. Only a niggle to find car park, and road a bit tired looking.

Every time we visit this area of England we use this hotel. Why? It is convenient and up until now there were not that many rooms available in central Havant. This will be the final visit, the place has gone down hill too much and the staff really seem to have the 'couldn't care less mentality'. We were booked in... More

We came to stay for one night. It is a very old building and the stairs are narrow and creak, but this gives it a quirkiness and is balanced by a really welcoming staff who made us feel valued as soon as we arrived. Our room was on the 3rd floor and was reached by twisty staircases, but the signs... More

This hotel is a little tired and needs to be updateded,/ refurbished, although the room was clean and well equiped . The staff were extremely friendly and could not do enough for you. Breakfast had plenty of choice and was very good.

We arrived at the bear hotel on Saturday after a long drive we were very tired, I was ready for a cup of tea so in our dated room I put the kettle on made Tea for it to taste of tooth paste. The bed was higher and propped up with blocks at one end the mattress was dirty. I... More

We were unlucky to be in Havant on a very hot night and the entire upper floor where our three rooms were located was unbearably hot. All three rooms were on the kitchen flue side so the tiny 5cm space our windows could open just sucked in the steam, smoke and aromas from the kitchen. It was also very noisy... More

As per other reviewers we found the room tired/noisy/dated although spacious - had the kitchen flue right outside our window meaning a constant drone at night and early morning so room 33 is to be avoided. Apart from that the staff were very good, breakfast included was very good, and the location (with free parking as residents) great so a... More
