I went to a SHEARINGS holiday to the Bay Prince of Wales, Hotel in the town of Berkerley in the cottswolds. Having had a comfortable ride in one of Shearings Coaches with a lovely driver called Alan who provides excellent tours on his daily excusions, he goes the extra mile and is a credit to Shearings for making the trips... We have stayed at this Hotel before. My wife thought I was quite mad in booking a weekend away so soon after returning from a Cottage Holiday in the Cotswolds & so soon before another Cottage Holiday in the Lleyn Peninsula. However, we paid extra for a Superior Room, well worth it, after receiving a 10% discount on the normal... More

You arrive at the Hotel off the busy A38. First view is pleasant enough and initial thoughts of being near this noisy busy road are unfounded as the room are at the back away from the road. Inside it is pleasant enough, maybe a little tired by todays standards but clean and tidy. Our room, 5, was a large double... More

Just returned from a five day break at the Prince of Wales Hotel . We had a lovely room overlooking the gardens at the back , food was excellent with plenty of choice , all the staff were friendly and nothing was to much trouble for them . We do agree with some other reviewers because of it's location there... More

We stopped three nights. We would not accept the first room (room 11)on the ground floor. It was dark and smelt damp. The reception staff were very good and offered us the choice of two rooms, both upgraded rooms I think. We had room 19 which was at the back. You could at times hear traffic on the motorway and... This hotel is really very pleasant and all the staff are nice and very helpful and friendly. But it is in the middle of nowhere , we thought we would be in walking distance of the village, so you do need a car to get about, we did expect some entertainment on the Friday night , all other Shearings hotels... A clean fresh comfortable room. The public areas were also clean and fresh. Food ok. Bar prices high. Staff brilliant, but run ragged, Very good value for money. No worries about staying there again .

We spent four nights on a half board basis and were very pleased with all aspects of our stay. We paid for an upgraded room which was spacious well decorated with a comfortable bed, the food was excellent with a good choice, breakfast was freshly cooked. The staff were all helpful, friendly and we cannot praise them highly enough for... More
