We have just stayed 3 nights at the hotel, it looks a lovely building and the restaurant and conservatory are very smart, the staff were very friendly which is always a nice touch, unfortunately a few things need seeing to, the rooms are very hot even with the radiators off and windows open, the showers take a good 5 to...

We stayed at The Westcliff Hotel for three nights during April for a family occasion. This Hotel is hugely overpriced, dated and poorly managed. The floorboards creaked throughout the upstairs of the Hotel, pigeons cooed from early morning, hence we didn't get much sleep. When I asked for a mug for my tea with my breakfast i was told to...

Dear Guest thank you for your review. We note the remarks about the floorboards and have in recent weeks started work on replacing the offending floorboards. We thank you for the complimentary remarks about our staff and trust that there must have been a misunderstanding in relation to the mug at breakfast as we dont have cups during breakfast service....

We chose the Westcliff Hotel because of the room prices and the proximity to the town centre. There is no shortage of on street parking spaces although it may be ,more difficult to park in the evening. The staff were welcoming and attentive to detail. We did find the rooms not to be as clean as the facade of the...

Have stayed before when taking in a show at the Cliffs across the road. Easy to park in the road if you get there early, fine with a 2pm check in time. Some more evidence of refurbishment and redecoration since last visit, including our double room. The bar is still gloomy and the lunchtime sandwiches were overpriced and bland. Breakfast...

This reviewer Rude & dishonest is currently in dispute as neither apply - a full transcript of the email and conversation has been sent to Tripadvisor. The fact is that this person did not stay at the hotel and was refused a booking due to the request to leave her dog unattended in the room for several hours whilst she...

We celebrated a hen party at this hotel this weekend. Brilliant staff friendly helpful and cheerful. Food was exceptional and the cocktail making was really fun. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Special thanks to Georgina and the events team for making it a time to remember.

Stayed one night with colleagues from work. Deal included bed breakfast and evening meal. Room comfortable and clean. Shower didn't work properly and toilet could do with a deep clean. Reasonable choice from evening meal menu. Food ok, akin to average pub grub. Service pleasant. Breakfast typical hot and cold buffet. We used a meeting room and had lunch provided....

We booked afternoon tea for 25 members of our W.I. (Women's Institute) and it was fabulous. Especially the newly baked scones (still warm!) v. light and very good, and the cheesecake. All made in-house so thank you chef. Staff were lovely - copious foods nicely served on vintage plates.

Visited here recently for a concert at the pavilion.. perfect place to stay in that respect as it is across the road. Hotel had a nice feel. Spacious bar with tables at the front with good views. “We felt the hotel is tired; it desperately needs an overhaul; very dated 80s decor and mixed badly The breakfast was of poor standard, we travel a lot and I would rate the breakfast very low, plus both mornings the staff was playing Michael bubble Christmas songs, in April? Very odd.. ; however, the evening meals were lovely so makes me wonder if it's a different kitchen to breakfast? The LIFT desperately needs changing... it's too small for a hotel and located in a terrible position, someone really needs to look at the logistics of the lift and it needs money spent on it The view of the hotel is beautiful and you should really make some changes to the hotel to bring the young in... I felt like I was on a saga holiday ”
